Ongoing Situation Lewiston active shooter: 22 people dead and 60 injured with armed suspect still at large

We may soon find out what the term “three percenter” actually means. I doubt we’d have even that much. More like 0.3%, though I hope I am totally wrong on that. There’s also the slow “boil the frog” factor. I think most people tend to say that “things are not that bad yet”, even as government slowly gains more and more power, and as we become more and more controlled, regulated, taxed, and surveilled.

Do they really need to assault me at home and take my guns? They can just wait until I am away. “They” already know where I am in my car at all times, given the cellular system, onboard automobile GPS telemetry to central servers (active and installed on many/most? newer model cars no matter if you paid for the option to use the GPS features), and license plate reader proliferation. Does any government agency really even care about the 4th amendment?

Is just going off the grid the answer? I probably should have been a “prepper” 20 years ago. Too late for that in my case. How many of us are entirely dependent on a technology-driven supply chain?

I read somewhere that someone argued that the gun confiscation will look like this.

  1. National gun registry (they already have most of this with purchase records and carry permits.)

  2. Socialized (nationalized) healthcare (we are pretty much there aren’t we?)

  3. Oh. Your child needs a life saving surgery. Why don’t you go home and get those firearms, turn them in and we’ll talk about that surgery again.

I hope we are a long long way away from that.

Or, just as parents are required to certify that their child has the requisite vaccinations to enroll them in public schools…

I had my “essential personnel” pass in my car, which permitted travel. Best commuting period of my life. Like a sci-fi post apocalypse movie. That was followed by seeing dogs in cars everywhere, as their people were no longer working.

And now with hb6667, which allows until May 1 2024 to (re) register our “assault rifles” , I was dismayed to see nearly every post on the reddit sub “ctguns” be about steps to compliance. Last straw, that was when I told my wife “another house or a defense fund”.
Lately there’s a lot of “is this legal…?” and the answer is always the same. The more I read, the happier I am with my move.

Ironic how the VA is administering psylocybin and I believe MDMA to patients, and several states are legalizing psylocybin (magic mushrooms) now.

I remember quite a few years ago now, our boss said we could only have parties to celebrate someone or something, such as birthdays, holidays, and such. So I decided that we would have an MK Ultra party. She was like, what? So I showed her the date that it started and stated we would be celebrating that day. :rofl: She good-naturedly went along with it. :sunglasses:

I get frustrated with that level of inaction. Government has always shown the ability/willingness to take actions that may be illegal to pursue its favored political agenda. The relevant question is not “Is this legal?” but “What are you personally prepared to do about it?” The honest answer for the vast majority of people is “Nothing.”

We have until 5/1/24 to register our previously approved but now deemed assault weapons. Instead of waiting to see how any of the 3 lawsuits go, these idiots are already asking how long approval will take. I mentioned shutting up as I’m sure the site is looked at by our fearless leaders, and crashing the slfu server the day before, and seeing post after post of compliance sure isn’t good for a free future. Psychologically it gave me the kick in the pants I needed to move, and glad to see Janice gets it as well.

CT. hb6667…open carry banned last month, unserialized builds registered and serialized by 1/1/24, “assault weapons” registered again by 5/1/24.
Sounds like MA has some more gun control lunacy coming up as well.

Waiting until the middle of an emergency to start getting ready for it is a piss poor planning strategy. But perhaps better late than never??

Unfortunately many if not most of these people will likely place their new tools in a drawer or closet and forget about them until the next emergency instead of taking the time to learn to use them properly.

When I moved back to KY from WA state, I crossed the new bridge at Louisville having a toll to pay for the construction of the bridge. Some time later I got a letter from KY Highway Department stating I owed for crossing the bridge. The proof photo in the letter was a pic taken from 100’ on the top of the bridge looking down on my car. You couldn’t see who was driving nor the license plate. There wasn’t a toll station to pay and I just drove across. Not saying I didn’t cross the bridge but what would be the other proof if I had contested the toll?
