.22LR is not reliable as centerfire ammo, so these cannot be compared.
The guns within .22 caliber however can be for sure. And so far, it’s only my opinion, Glock44 beats all other manufacturers.
M&P has…or I should say had FULL SIZE 22 pistol made by Walther, but it’s not available anymore.
M&P22C is a fantastic handgun, but unfortunately size doesn’t match other calibers and reliability is ok after manual corrections / fitting.
Why M&P shrank the size of 22C model? Who knows, but Glock didn’t make this mistake.
Regarding ammo… Watch the video @americanwolfman posted. It’s impressive. I read dozens post, reviews and opinions about best .22LR handguns before I bought M&P22C. I shoot only “high velocity” ammo and the gun runs smoothly. However I’m not sure if I would risk to do 5 magazines with different ammo with M&P
It might fail…

Sorry to hear that, I have had that pistol for some time. Raising 3 kids and now into Grandkids, I have an array of .22 pistols and rifles. I used to use the advantage arms conversions on my Glocks, talk about getting your malfuntion practice in
I’m interested in the Taurus 22.
If the Glock were $100 cheaper and/ or I carried glocks I would want one of them. But I’ve heard the TX-22 is great and it’s only $300.
I have heard mostly good things about them but I am just the opposite, I am so Glock centric that in our current climate buying a .22 that I have nothing for would not make sense for me, I would be interested in hearing if you acquire one.
I am anxiously waiting for my 18rd pro mags to come in and the weather to clear so I can hit the range and get them sorted out, we are supposed to get more snow this weekend so I am hoping for the best.
The Taurus would be more of a gun I can pull out shoot just for the fun of it. I don’t really think of it as a training tool. Just something fun to shoot that will eat the 22lr I have laying around. It would also be a gun to pull out for new shooters.
We have one as a rental at the range I work at. We needed to replace the magazine because the plastic at the top wore out. I noticed there is no metal in the lips like you see in most polymer magazines. They need to fix that.
Any idea what your approximate round count is at?
Sorry to say no. They were going to keep track for maintenance purposes, but it didn’t happen. It’s probably been rented at least 7 days per week at least once for months. Probably 50-100 rounds per day as conservative estimate.
Thanks for the reply
Here is a target shot today with CCI Mini Mag 40gr, 5rds at 7yds, 5rds at 10yds, 10rds total. I am really liking these sights and seem to have fixed some of the POA issues I was experiencing. I did manage to check the POA at 25yds but forgot to get a pic of the target as a storm was starting to blow in.
The first time I saw a G44 when they first hit the market a salesman handed me one to check it out, I could not believe how light it is, I think BB pistols are heavier.
