Finally got my CCW…and it’s useless!

I hope you are right. I was a big supporter of the CRPA when I lived in CA.

Ron39 brings to mind a good question. Being new to Idaho, I am not familiar with the various gun rights activists groups.

I joined the ISRPA as soon as I got here, and for better or worse, I am a long time NRA member.

Any Idahoans with other suggestions?

Colorado became the safe haven for low life scumbags who just wanted to smoke dope. I left after retiring. The totally disenfranchised the western slope. Nevada isn’t much better now with weed being legalized. The entire state is blood red except for Vegas (unions and minorities) abd Carson City (elitist and bureaucrats) which ultimately control the ballot. Both senators and most House representatives.

Just renewed mine, I got the renewal letter this morning, was at Sheriff Dept at lunch to renew. Or guys are probably the fastest in the state on renewals. I have seen them back in a week and a half. But usually when turn in the renewal they have plenty of time. I’m thinking this will be my 4th 5-year term. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. I say God Bless America also :us: :us: :us: :us:

I live in Illinois.
For a CCL you need a federal background check
16 Hours of training including Range competency
All Good, IMHO.
I paid for 1on 1 training rather than class as I was a long gun guy with no Pistol experience an would benefit by 1on1 rather than a crowded class.
The training was terrific, cost a bunch. Then Illinois gets money for filing, electronically. It took the better part of a year to get my CCL.
In Cook County, as many as 100 people get shot every week end, all by illegal guns, illegal people… yet we, the legal, law abiding citizens are the bad guys with scary guns… Mayor of Chicago says of the “Disadvantaged Youths” who rob out of town tourists at gunpoint… “Do not Demonize Chicago youths because they have no opportunities…”.The Top priority, IMHO, should be the safety of the citizens… yet criminal activity is only marginally punished by the law. A ten year sentence, if prosecuted at all for robbing an elderly woman at gunpoint or a car Jacking ( Chicago is the Car jacking capitol of the Country) May be 8years in prison. BUT!!! In Illinois 8 years is really 4 years, unless you murder someone in Prison… Lesser offenses are sentenced to as little as “Community Service” which may mean as little as lunch with Jessy Jackson…
Maybe time to move me and my business to Idaho…

Hello and welcome @John1497

I had been an NRA member since I was 14. Once they reorganize their self. And possibly get some new leadership, I will once again be. There are many out there now that are putting in the work that I support and will continue to support. :us:

Welcome aboard sir!

Reciprocity-
“the practice of exchanging things with others for mutual benefit, especially privileges granted by one country or organization to another. “

Given that CA does not grant Reciprocity to licensed carriers from any other States it kinda surprises me that any of the non Constitutional Carry States grant CA license holders reciprocity. Though it probably really upsets the CA politicians that their residents can actually practice their Constitutionally affirmed right to self defense in other States and there is nothing they can do to stop it.

If I remember KY’s reciprocity correctly, KY only recognizes those states that recognizes KY’s CCDW license. The way it should be I think.

Exactly! Reciprocity by definition should be a two way street. Since CA recognizes no state’s permits, no state should recognize CA’s…but some do.

I have mixed feelings on this one. In general I agree that reciprocity should go both ways. But since CA’s goal is to restrict as many people as possible from carrying in as many places as possible not granting reciprocity to CA licence holders just makes the CA anti self defense politicians even more happy that there laws are able to restrict their own residents even when they pass beyond the border.

The fact that CA denies all out of State residence their 2A right to bear arms is clearly unconstitutional. I’d like to see that challenged some day but I can’t afford to spend the years in jail to be the one that does it.

California needs to build a wall to keep guns out,

:grinning:

That’s why you get a non resident license in another state.

I constantly refer to California as the land of fruits and nuts! Lord knows they are out in mass there.

You have moved to the land of milk and honey, and I envy you.

You and your wife have managed to escape the social strife that many fear to tread…at least for now.

Or perhaps you’re just engaging in “white flight” and you’re seeking greener pastures with less potential for violence.

Beware the open border policies of the US Government.

Many of the so-called “migrants” who are flooding into the Pacific Northwest are the only available laborers who are willing to harvest potatoes or pick apples for five bucks an hour.

Many years ago while on pass to Berlin, stood on the same platform Pres Kennedy stood on.
I look across noticed that barbed wire on top was designed to keep people in not out, this was when the curtain was still there :us: :us: :us:

I think they are getting savy to that trick. I’ve heard a few reports of migrants refusing to work for less than minimum wage.

Work? Why should they work when they are getting housed, fed — although I have read that they don’t like the food they are getting and trash it — I don’t know what other benefits they are getting. Probably free medical care for the diseases they are bringing into the country. So why would any self-respecting “amnesty seeker” do stoop labor on farms? In addition, they aren’t eligible to work as they don’t hold permission cards enabling them to actually work. An employer who hires them risks getting raided the the very folks supposed to keep them from entering the country and the employer gets fined for hiring them without proper clearances.

I’ve been asking this forever. Thus we get a parallel economy of labor with all the ppl outside HD or Lowes waiting for cash only jobs where contractors drive by and get the day labor they need without all the gubment regulations of having full time employees.
