Thank you! Have not seen any of that here!
Thank you brother!
Thank you, we feel very blessed to be here!
Didn’t see any on my back bumper as I crossed the state line. Got out of the car and checked while I was kicking California dust off my heals. Didn’t want to track anything in.
Most of the time we were there, we lived in a fairly conservative community. Republican congressional candidates always win their elections. But the margins have been shrinking and the last election had to go to a runoff.
But even in conservative pockets, there is no escaping the looney liberal policies of that state.
I retired, about 5 years too early, from a job I held for 34 years. The owner sold the company and I had no interest in working for the new guy.
Got a call from a company in Idaho offering us jobs and a place to live. Five weeks later, we were here and we couldn’t be happier.
I don’t take offense when someone blasts Californians, that reputation is well earned. The people we have encountered, even native Idahoans have been nothing but welcoming.
And yes, as soon as I got my Idaho ID, my California CCW was rendered useless. Still trying to decide if I want to get an Idaho CWL, or an Enhanced CWL.
I know. I have family and friends in California. I shouldn’t have talked like that.
I hope the best for Everyone.
Apologies to USCCA.
Dave
I see a lot of former Californians where I live too, probably about one half of the transplants to the area. I’m one of those numbers also, fled two years ago and never looked back. I’ve never met a liberal Californian here. Every single one of them has been a strong conservative and very vocal about the true situation in CA.
We fought for our beliefs in CA, but there the system truly is rigged, and it has been a one party state since the democrats came to power. If anyone doubts it, I dare you to try to find a single Californian that voted to keep Newsom as governor in the recall. Even the liberals didn’t like him after how he handled covid, despite what the news said. I’ve been told it was wrong to leave, because it makes it harder for those who are left to fight. But enough was enough, and we made the best choice for our family and future generations.
On a side note, the only liberal transplant I’ve seen here was from Massachusetts. And some moderates from New York. Other than that, the vast majority of new people are strong conservatives who fled their states and are leaving those policies behind once and for all!
Agree 100%.
Can’t fault you for doing what’s best for your family.
My wife and I had a conversation couple of years ago. I commented that my kids have to be on board with our politics or they’re not welcome to join us.
I don’t want that kind of baggage.
You can send them a postcard showing your newfound happiness.
As a fellow LA escapee, I’d like to welcome you and your family to a much better quality of life.
Idaho was on my retirement bucket list, but my wife’s arthritis may prevent that from happenings.
Enjoy your newfound freedom!
Colorado is a tough nut to crack. I thought when I got my CA permit, I’d be free and clear in CO. No cigar! CO doesn’t recognize a CA permit.
I have a feeling that the CRPA will neutralize SB2 before it kicks in on 1 Jan.
It’s almost like being in Cali without a CCW permit
except in CO, you may have a loaded handgun in the car.
In CO I believe you can actually defend yourself
Now I want to move to Idaho!
I moved out of Denver and left Colorado right after they legalized marijuana.
Nah that’s NJ
I’m seeing that too. My new neighbor down the street used the $$ from selling his house there to buy a home and 18 acres here, $400k.
I checked my house where I used to live in WA. It’s now over $800k and I bought it at $165k, sold it for $310k. West coast is nuts in more than one way.
