Where were you with this information with a previous predicament of mine that we are both well aware of??
I cannot be held responsible/accountable because you did not check the Terms & Conditions box before proceeding with the purchase.
I live in California (we are planning to move) but I live in a county with a sheriff that is more open minded. To give an example, two years ago I renewed my ccw permit. It asked for just cause (pre Bruen), my answer was 'I live in in **** (city I live in). It was approved.
Now when you are talking about either Florida, Arizona, Utah or what have you, check the reciprocity map and put in all the information. Then check the restrictions. I have a student that was looking at non resident Arizona or Utah because the travel to several states. One important state the travel to is Colorado. Colorado has reciprocity for resident permits but does not recognize non-redident permits.
As for the smell of freedom I take a deep breath every time I cross the state line to Nevada. I try not to head north through Oregon. If I am heading to Idaho, I do via Nevada, hold my breath through Oregon and take extra deep breaths of that sweet smell of freedom.
Welcome to a free state!
@David1499 Welcome to the community!
You can go by a definition of law but how about this, do you want people to know?
I know I do not want anyone to have any idea that I have a gun on me. My wife knows I carry and she will tell me if she knows I am carrying. This makes it harder because she knows but if she cannot tell them I know I am good. I like this state of mind because it will keep me safe.
We live just 10 miles from the CA state line in central NV and it’s night and day for attitude and i carry everywhere.
Truckee is Reno with limited rights.
Congratulations on your new home. I’ve been in California for 65 years, can’t leave my family and friends yet. 2 reasons to get a license in your home state. 1 you can drive and walk within 1000 feet of a school armed. You can only do that in your home state with a CCW Permit. You can’t do that in any other state. Try driving around a city and staying 1000 feet from all the schools. 2 reciprocity with other states. Also I got an Arizona permit to add 4 other states that I drive through every summer.
Also your CA permit is no longer valid and you should notify the issuing agency that you are gone. But with the CA laws going into affect on Jan 1 the CCW permit is not very useful anymore.
Fortunately I’m a little further south in Douglas Co.
Thats good you moved to Idaho. Did you leave democrat voting habits in California.
IMO that must be a required declaration upon crossing the border
Congrats on your move out of shitty California, Newsom can eat a dick. Wish you and your wife the best.
Hello and welcome @Jeremy146
Thanks for the welcome, and thank you!
Hello and welcome to the community @Jeremy146!
Awesome first post!
I now call Colorado, East California.
Should’ve stayed in California. Idaho wouldn’t mind. You Californians don’t use your minds. You use all the money from your sale of your house. If you did use your mind, you’d know that having a permit to carry is a very personal and powerful choice. You should have thought about that before you started your CCW journey but, as stated at first, you’re a Californian. That permit is far from useless, even in Idaho. Just ask a native. If they’ll talk to you, they’ll tell you. Be careful, Idaho is a great state and is Idahoans, we think
Welcome to the community @Dave148
While there are a lot of really misguided people living in and moving out of CA not everyone there is mindless. I have run into quite a few good people while stuck working in CA.
In this case his CA permit is now completely useless. As soon as he established residency in Idaho the permit is no longer valid.
Thanks for the info! Looks like Hayden Lake is nearly 400 miles to the north of me. May or may not make it up there at some point.
