Unbelievable!
Thank you Sir, I feel the same way. Just remember why everyone hates the NRA so much. They are scared of the NRA
No … New York. Nothing else need be said. I die inside a little more each time I hear how much worse my old home state gets.
As a former New Yorker I am disappointed also😞
I’d say the smart ones seem to be leaving, but I know there are many there trying to bring sanity to their world. I hope they can do it. Everything is so upside down these days.
It seems no one knows for sure where they are incorporated. A lawyer (2A sympathetic) said their big mistake was NOT incorporating in VA; staying in NY. Really would like to know. If true, that is a gross negligence of duty.
This article states the NRA is incorporated in New York.
Texas would be a Good location…?
Win the battle, reorganize, update leadership, and relocate
Would do a lot to win back membership loyalty and credibility
I went cold turkey with NRA the moment they pulled the plug last minute on USCCA for their annual convention. “as a business decision” (according to my response received from NRA) to launch Carry Guard. Since then, I quickly end every donation call with a “Thank you for your personal effort, but NRA will never get another dime from me as long as Wayne LaPierre is associated” The last caller sighed with a “Yeah, I know what you mean.”
But Wayne’s suits are very nice. You didn’t like paying for those?
No, We can’t elect new leaders. Not the executive level. NRA docs reworked late 90’s left the board legally powerless. Brownell learned quickly he had zero chance to steer the ship to clean waters.
The comments about ammo sourcing were moved to another thread about finding ammo right now.
To steer it back (and thank you for the tangent, anything we can do to find more ammo, I dont care how much you have, in times like this, you always feel like you need more!)
These arent original thoughts and have been brought up time and time again. We cant let New York get away with this. If it happens to the NRA, it can happen to all the other great organizations that help us defend our rights. Sure, the NRA is incorporated in NY, and that is their mistake to stay that way, just like the old time gun companies are paying for their choice to stay in gun unfriendly states. But look at what NY has done with the USCCA. And if NY succeeds in this lawsuit, the roadmap has just been laid for every other liberal anti-gun activist politician who may get elected. San Francisco labeled the NRA a terrorist organization. So, while the NRA is not blameless in any of this, they are still the biggest, the most politically connected organization fighting for our rights. WLP needed to go a long time ago as I stated before, and if the organization lives through this, this lawsuit will be the catalyst needed to force the reform the NRA membership has been calling for for years. Ultimately, the NRA needs to win this, for all our gun owning sakes. I get it, I have a life membership but have not given money for years. But, for those of you who have let your NRA memberships expire, I would ask you to take a long look at what no NRA means for all of us. If the NRA does not reform and change, then they deserve to struggle and resize, but it needs to be at our hands, those of us who value the rights given to us by our creator and enshrined in the bill of rights. Support the NRA through this, and if they dont change, then we as a gun owning community can determine the best organization to represent us and we can shift our memberships away from the NRA and build up a different organization to take the place of the NRA as the main defender of our rights.
Thanks @Dawn for your help AGAIN.
I know we need organizations like the NRA but I can’t let the fact that their money hungry greed has blurred the lines of what they stand for. They misallocated $64,000,000.00 worth of donations from its members on private jets, luxury cars, limos, expensive hotels, and other things. I can’t stand behind them
Right now, I think more than money, they need to be able to point to the numbers they represent. Every one of which is a voter. I rejoined last week. Every new gun owner (now in record numbers) should also join. Politician need to be taught that it’s not just a lobbying organization, they represent real people - that vote. They are us!
I guess that’s a choice we each need to make. I don’t see anyone else in the position to defend the 2A better right now. Lots to clean up and JLP needs to be accountable and step down or be removed for sure. I’m watching for that rising star, but I’ll support the NRA in spite of itself for now.
@Levi2 I do not watch #fakenewsmedia anymore. I discovered a few months ago OAN! One American News! They are awesome and on POTUS Trump’s side! They report The Right Truth with evidence. Of course I love Lou Dobbs on FOX & thats it as far as backwards FOX.
@Dwayne you ae VERY Correct in all you wrote.
I miss the days when people helping other people was on the news. Now there’s only news when something is wrong, someone wants to make someone else look bad, or someone screws up. It’s nothing but negativity. Where did the love go, you know?
