Attack against the NRA

I’m a benefactor member and have been a life member since the early 80’s . I purchased life membership for my two sons when they were in their early teens in the 90’s. Just last month I purchased life membership for my 5 grandchildren. That was a large expense and now I’m starting to question my decision. With all that’s going on internally and externally with the N.R.A. ,did I make the right decision . I’m getting up in years and wanted to leave a legacy of 2nd Amendment support for my grandchildren. It’s my hope the N.R.A. will bounce back. I also think it’s past time that Wayne L. needs to retire. Also, leave New York and incorporate in a pro gun state.

I’ve always wondered why Ollie North was un-ceremonially kicked out of the Presidency of the NRA a few years ago. Something wasn’t right about that whole shakeup.

Amen to that.

I agree with him stepping down but we still need someone that will stand with us not the hater of the Second Amendment.

I’m a life member and just up’ed that to endowment. I’m trying to stay focused, NRA is a group of Americans dedicated to up-holding our Constitution, protecting our 2nd Amendment rights. People are sinful and far from perfect, we may have failed in the past at keeping on mission with the NRA. Now is not the time to fall apart; we need to stay on our feet, keep are guard up, get home office out of New York and continue to fight to protect our Constitution & 2nd Amendment rights. We hold NRA leadership to a high standard, one our Forefathers would be proud of.

Thanks @Jerry1. The NRA are in the position to fight the fight, probably more than any other organization. As individuals, we can’t do much. I agree we need unite behind them now. Our Law makers need to be made to understand that we are the NRA, and we vote.

One also needs to ponder this, the USCCA is not allowed to offer their services in New York currently (please correct me if I am wrong, I hope that I am @Dawn! ) This started with San Francisco declaring the NRA a terrorist organization and it will continue further if a stand is not taken.

I wish you were, but at this point you are correct, @Christopher_S1.

The sad part about that is New York does not realize that USCCA tempers the right to defend oneself with when one should defend oneself. If I or my wife ever need to use my firearm for self defense (and I do not want to unless I have to) I want to know that 1) I have not put myself in that situation, 2) I have done everything I can to de-escalate the situation, and 3) That I know I had no other choice. They only look at the civil protection insurance aspect, which I have found is only a very small part.

NRA, FPC, GOA, JPFO and others typically handle preserving my right to do so. USCCA covers the gap and covers when I should use my right.

I e-mailed the NRA in 2016 about them stepping down and to their local paper that they should indict them as individuals and not hurt the 5,000,000 innocent people that are victims not bad people.

I wish that NY would let me rejoin the USCCA. I was only told that NY thought that the USCCA was doing something illegal. I’m still not sure what. Keep fighting for us and STAY SAFE.

NY considers the USCCA literally “murder insurance.” This is also how they attacked the NRA previously and took out the NRA competition “carry guard.” As it was being offered through a NY incorporated entity, NY was able to shut it down.

I sold Life Insurance for a small part of my life. If a Life insurance company wanted to be licensed in NY, it had to have the same rules in every other state in the union had to comply with NY rules or it couldn’t ne licensed in NY. Sound like the same crap.

Hummm,
Why has the media gone silent on the NRA? Think they figured out it was a bad move? Maybe they motivated a WHOLE bunch of voters? Maybe they did a little research and found that approximately one third of NRA members are Democrats?
Hummmm…
Just saying

@James322, good thought, but we can’t celebrate till the suit is dropped. I personally am not surprised the media coverage is lacking, but that might be by design. As they know, the NRA represents a huge voting block of all political views. As such, over-publicizing it is not in their best interest.

But, keep in mind eliminating the NRA is not the primary purpose of this. If they succeed, they will run around high fiving each other. The primary purpose of this lawsuit is to minimize what the NRA is able to do this election cycle. It is an attempt to divert money and resources away from efforts to support and elect pro-2A politicians at all levels and create divisions within the 2A community.

So don’t let the lack of media splash lull us into a false complacency. They are still accomplishing their goal, regardless of the outcome of this case.

It’s true Brian139. Think of it as a magic show, look at this hand while the other hand does something completely different. But I can’t say they’re being too quiet about it. Kamala Harris already said the first thing she’s going to do in office is force a federal buyback on all weapons. she’s already promised she’s going to take away our second amendment. Just like everything else the media blows up all these different subjects and keeps quiet on the ones they’re trying to get away with something. And don’t think the Kamala Harris doesn’t know the 25th amendment inside and out, bet your bottom dollar she will be enacting the 25th amendment if Joe Biden wins.

I would be astonished if Joe made it thirty days. There’s no intention to put him on the world stage. He’s a shill.

Who needs insurance in a jurisdiction where you just need to wear the right t-shirt…
Or perhaps you only need the right office to direct nursing homes to care for pandemic patients

People need to realize that without the NRA and all the good work they have done over the years that the 2A would be just a fond memory from the past. Get over it! I have been a member since the early 1970’s and no, never a life member. I pay my dues yearly. Life members get all the praise, but get off cheap. Annually I have probably paid 10 times more than any life member. I just wish they didn’t squander my dues on all the mailings to me yearly. Use it all in defense of my 2A rights. I don’t think the officers waste money " Lavishly" in fact compared to any other organizations or companies with 5+ million members I think they are fairly compensated for the responsibilities they have. Walk a mile in their shoes… Why they are Headquartered in NY I don’t know. They should have left that cesspool long ago. There are 4 places I wouldn’t consider living at, NY, California, NJ, or Illinois. Being Headquartered in Commie NY is asking for trouble. Just my humble opinion…

Ever since the NRA supported the Red Flag laws I decided to support other organizations Like GOA , NGRA and second Amendment Foundation. I’m a Life Member of the NRA but feel they have neglected the gun owner the last few years.
