I feel it needs a drastic change. Completely dismantled, no. Reorganization and repurposed, absolutely. If they get their stuff together, and start actually fighting for our rights, I’ll rejoin.

I am leaning towards “well timed allegations for political purposes”. With the shake up in the NRA leadership a lot of big names like Oliver North have been shown the door. If someone like North were making these claim I would be concerned, he was in a position to know and he holds no love for WLP.

And one might argue that any organization or group, public or private, if reviewed, would be found of gross everything from misconduct to use of funds. This is 1/2 timely publicity stunt and 1/2 a great way to open one up to the same questions about their/firm/life.

I just joined. I’ll do a year membership just to show support. Like my other post GOA is my preferred group, but I want my son to grow up in a 2A country, and it’s clear that the NRA plays a big role in that. There’s a reason they want to “dissolve” it.

The NY AG and NY GOV have been trying to stop financial institutions from doing business with the NRA for awhile. Now the NY AG and the DC AG have filed lawsuits against the NRA to also freeze their assets. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that the election is in a couple of months and NRA involvement will be stopped. Thanks in part to a couple of billionaires putting their minions in the right places to oppose any 2A advocates.
I’ve been a NRA life member for a long time and support what they represent. Each year I try to vote in as much new blood on the board as possible to help replace the "Good old boys"that always maintain the status quo. Voting in a celebrity that runs off as soon as there is a problem isn’t the answer either. There needs to be more transparency with the membership about activities than just soliciting donations.
The NRA needs to be more pro-active than the anti gun crowd. They need to be in the forefront of educating people on all things related to firearms. That means safety, hunting, competition, self defense, collecting, history, gunsmithing, etc. If they’re not willing to put out the effort, then partner with a 2A group that will. Changes need to be made!

As an NRA member we need to stick together and go though this storm and stay Strong. I think NY is playing politics because the NRA supported President Trump In his victory last time with what I understand to be the sum of $70M in 2016. The timing is to make the NRA pay for legal fees instead of donating to President Trump…Maybe the NRA should listen to President Trump and move to Texas to a state that would love them?? …IF WLP and Frazier are guilty of the charges that NY is trying to charge them with, they should Step down and not try to take the NRA down with them.

Another thought, if they can dissolve the NRA they could do the same to FPC, GOA, JPFO and others. This must stop here and now.

I guess I can say “I am the NRA and I vote”. I submitted an annual membership yesterday too. I’d been a member before, but the constant barrage against them is only to take down the 2A. Being a member is one way to fight back. Still believe Wayne needs to go.

IMO if you work for a nonprofit, you joined to serve the cause of that organization. The money brought in should go towards the cause. I don’t see why CEOs take hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars a year from their organization. Don’t want to be attacked by people that don’t agree with you? You should probably not do 
you shouldn’t within the organization. You know people are going to try to defeat you, why give them reasons to? Integrity still means something.

This NY AG Letitia James already had it in for the NRA before she became the AG. She called us a Terrorist Organization, she plans to dissolve the NRA not just go after WLP and friends, she’s trying to take all of us down, the whole organization because we backed Trump… my opinion, she is overreacting, she is going after WLP and friends total of 4 people but there are 6M plus members and we can elect some other leaders.

Wayne uses the NRA as his personal bank account. He positioned himself in such a way it would be hard for him to be removed. He isnt for gun owners. He is for himself. thats why I dumped NRA. I am a member of JPFO and they make the NRA seem like handgun control inc.

That is correct @Roger41. Its about the “murder insurance” (their words) that USCCA offers it’s membership to help with the legal implications of a self-defense shooting.
