43X, 48, or 19

I’m torn, part of me really wants a G19, but I also know if I got an M&P compact it’d take my mags and holsters… but I’d also like to venture out of S&W a little bit.

So many firearm options so little space in the safe (and budget;). Can see the arguments going either way. Maybe flip a coin? And there will very likely be more stimulus checks for your second choice. At least until the government is forced to admit it has been bankrupt for the last decade or two.

You will definitely enjoy the Gen 5 Glocks, I purchased my first G19 in 1993. I have shot almost every Glock made.

I have several Glocks around 100,000 rds and have and shoot M&P’s as well but still prefer the ease of holsters, parts and cleaning and diehard reliability.

I purchased around 7 Sig p320"s when they first came out and then the problems began along with multiple trips back to Sig. I got rid of every single one. I was heart broken as the feel of the Sig in my hand was phenomenal. My wife saw all the issues I was having and said she was scared of me carrying it.

I am sitting here wearing my Glock 43x MOS as I type this. I love the comfort and shootability of this little pistol, but if I could only have just ONE, I would without question go with my Gen 5 19 MOS.

You know I’ll go in for a Glock and walk away with an M&P.

:zipper_mouth_face::sleepy: I’m gonna leave that alone, I have done the same thing but I would still get the Glock, lol

All my practice is with M&Ps, so practically when I get my hands on an M&P my sights point where I want, the controls are where I want.

That’s always my reasoning.

I would like to own a G19 just to own a G19 though.

Totally understandable, the grip angles being different can be a training issue. I do thoroughly enjoy the M&P’s my daughter and I have. One of the best factory out of the box dot pistols I bought a few years ago was an M&P.

With what you already own I understand the lean towards what you already know and can respect that. I am very Glockcentric at this point and have been slowly selling off my other pistols and sticking with just them for training and parts interchangeability.

With the current state of affairs staying with what you already know and have might be the better longterm option but if your looking for something new and exciting you have my word you will not be disappointed.

Now I’m dreading the thought of getting the hundreds of rounds through a new gun to make sure it’s reliable :joy::joy:

Edit: I want to shoot the rounds, I just dread the thought of the cost these days.

That’s easy fix:

  • don’t buy a gun
  • no needs for ammo
  • money saved

If there is one gun I would trust to walk out of a gun store and immediately defend my life with it would be a Glock 19/17. I have never had an issue with mine nor has anyone I have ever met in person. I’m sure there are some Glock lemons out there but most the stories on the internet seem to be right after generational changes. The gen 5 has been out long enough to work out any kinks I would think.

And for the record I am not a Glock diehard. I own and really like a couple other brands. Just trust my Glock the most based on experience with my 12+ year old sample and the experience of countless other owners.

Now to find one in stock! (they were in earlier this week, but now they are gone :joy:).

Which model? I can look around for one in my spare time.

So I did a lot more research on the different Glock gens. I’m confused.

I keep finding that gen 4 and 5 had significant upgrades, but that Glock fanboys hate gen 4 and gen 5… but they believe Glock is the best…

I love my Gen 4. Stop by and I’ll let you test drive it😎

I found a 45 that’s tempting , but I think I want that 19 grip.

I also found a pretty sweet M&P compact that’s tempting.

Gosh the market is saturated with good choices :joy:
