YOU need to VOTE!

Maybe one day we will have a party that actually follows the Constitution. I would join that party!

I voted today and it was crazy, we were supposed to vote for our 9 delegates to the Electoral College, and there was 0 info out about them, oh and 9 super delegates JIC.

For everyoneā€™s info: this past November election in Virginia there were 10 Democratic State senators that ran UNOPPOSED, no conservatives to challenge them. There were 26 Democratic State Delegates that ran unopposed, no Republicans to challenge them. Thatā€™s 36 candidates. No challengers. In my voting district, I wrote my own name on the ballot because there were no conservative candidates. So did 15% of the voters in my district. You can get all this info on Ballotpedia.org website. We must have conservatives to vote for, or it will happen again.

Alabama had the opposite. Almost every Judicial position was unopposed or contested between Republicanā€™s.

All good, @AlexV! I wanted to make sure you knew that we agree with you.

At the very heart of the matter this is why this election season bothers me so. Since Francis ā€œBeta Betoā€ Oā€™ Rourke, made his " Hell yeah, weā€™re going to take your AR-15 & your AK-47, remarks.

The Democratic Party has gone full tilt boogy to the ā€œextreme leftā€. I canā€™t even see their positions from where I sit. Their current positions are insane and destructive to everything I believe in.

I am not against ā€œfree college for allā€ as long as there is a corresponding " free service, civil or military" from those who receive free college. I think we could definitely learn from Israel on this.

I am not against being able to discharge student loans through bankruptcy as they were able to be done before 2005. Republicans created a problem where nonevexisted. It worked just fine then and would work fine now. Their are more than enough negatives from discharging debt through bankruptcy without it being abused.

I am far right wing Republican on 2 issues, the caring for and support of our military, and the Constitution.

Everything else, I vote my conscience. Now I canā€™t even do that. I canā€™t vote Libertarian Candidates. Thatā€™s as good as throwing my vote away or giving it to the Democratic Party.

Do not read below here. It isnā€™t prettyā€¦

Come November I may have to vote for a Senatorial Candidate that I despise. Roy Moore. He has very serious accusations against him of allegedly using his position to solicit minors for sex that go back decades. He has been removed from numerous elected offices several times, due to misconduct. He drapes himself under the twin flags of patriotism and religion, neither position being one I think he believes in. All of this is if I want the state of Alabama to stay pro 2@.

Yeah, not gonna lieā€¦I was a little worried last night (super Tuesday) when it looked like the Dems in TX were about give their delegates to Bernie Sanders. I mean, I know youā€™re Democrats, but dang, a ā€œdemocratic socialistā€ is going to be your option? Really? I think yaā€™ll imported a bit too many of them ā€œCalifornian Economic refugees.ā€ Donā€™t you let them mess your State up Texas. Just sayin.

Now, guess who VP Biden, if elected, is going to put in charge of his gun control initiative!

Thatā€™s whatā€™s so nauseating about all of this.

If Biden wins, heā€™s way to senile too actually run anything. It will be all the peopel who have led the charge on ā€œRussian collusionā€ and the impeachment debacle.
Those are people who I would prefer behind bars, not running the country.

We should always vote! So many lower level people run unopposed and before you know it, they are congresspeople and senators that are hard to get rid of. I should know as Iā€™m in Illinois!

AlexV, I disagree about being responsible for our ā€œlegislatorsā€ 'cause a candidate who I vote FOR can,
and Very often IS, controlled by the ā€œpartyā€ on many
issues & Will vote differently than what s/he Said while
Running for election.
This seems, to Me, especially true for DemonCrats
(As I call them) & though I voted for someone who
I Believed was Pro 2nd Amendment
(based on campaign statements)
I can Do Nothing to prevent s/he from voting Against what I Believed they supported !

We get the government we deserve

This is an issue for both parties, there is a Democrat Delegate in Virginia who had relations with a minor, had a kid, then later married the minor when she came of age.

How do we go about getting good people into office as our politicians?

Well, one thing we, as a country have to do, is stop expecting every politician to be spotless.

You expect spotless what you get is either.

  1. a choir boy, who goes in Mr. Smith goes to Washington and either resigns in disgust or becomes a swamp critter

  2. a psychopath who is so good at lying you never know.

  3. A professional liar

  4. An honest guy who gets shredded, and never gets elected

  5. Someone who is part of the swamp.

At some point we have to reign our politicians in. Remind them who they work for.

Iā€™m not a fan of Trump but I respect his office, I donā€™t like any of the current bunch of Democrats. But I am going to vote for the one least dangerous to my Constitiunally protected rights. By vote for least dangerous I meant Trump.

I didnā€™t vote for him last election or Hillary. But Trump has done a good enough job to get 4 more years imo.

YMMV.

This is the first election Iā€™m 100% unsure of who to vote for. Iā€™m tired of voting for the lesser of two evils and I donā€™t support anyone running fully. I refuse to vote for anyone that wants to take away our right to bear arms, which narrows it down substantially, but I donā€™t support everything other people are running on. Iā€™ve been able to vote since Bush ā€œJr.ā€ And that was so much easier to vote on than what weā€™re currently voting on. It feels like this election is the turning point for this countryā€¦

I donā€™t think Iā€™ve every agreed with any political candidate fully. IMO theyā€™ve become so polarizing that anyone who isnā€™t on an extreme edge canā€™t agree with them fully.

I do not understand why people do not get why this election is so crucial. Itā€™s 2020. That means Census, that means redistricting, anybody happen to remember a small little Grass Roots organization that brought national politics to a screaming halt due to redistricting.

You donā€™t think the Democratic Party remembers what the Republican Party was able to do with redistricting.

@Dawn

Iā€™m honestly voting on who will do the least damage to my Constitiunally protected rights.

I feel like most of the country is centrist anymore. The governmental Republicans are so far right and the governmental Democrats are so far left that they are both extreme. But even centrists is like tossing a coin on agreeable policies. It is breaking my heart to see the country torn in half and the Constitution being spit on like this. But I will never give up my firearms. I feel a lot better living in Georgia knowing we have carry rights But the rest of the country is trying to take them away for the ENTIRE country. I really wished Mississippi HB 753 had gone through.
