That’s horrible.

My friend, you sound a little depressed. Rest assured, this too shall pass. A couple of months of this, is nothing that we cannot bear. Compare to what our parents’ generation got hit with, or generation before them. They recovered and so shall we.

I cannot speak about the UN plans, but something tells me once TP returns to the store shelves, so will quality of life

Why does no one understand I have nothing to do besides my job and study and learn to further a career for absolutely no one or no reason, and also care about my health for no one.

Hey @Brian110
I think you may want to read the bible or go to church.

My boyfriend and myself are also supposed to be in Denmark this week, instead we get screwed and I am forced to actually do my job and study for a promotion for no one at all, that would make my family proud.

Exactly. Your concern is my concern.

How is it constitutional to FORCE someone to tolerate being around themselves when that person hates their own company?

I just went to get coffee and get air. There appears to be an stand off between police and someone at the coffee place I usually go to, ended up getting a latte in McDonald’s thru the drive thru and sat in my state issued vehicle and had my steak bagel and coffee listening to radio communications on ISPERN.

Would be interesting to know if it is related to the “shut down”, or typical Chicago area happenings.

I’m in a suburb of Chicago, so it may be a combination of both, however I took my state issued vehicle to get the bbq rib special last night, planning on eating in the vehicle because of the bs, and went to also get my latte from Dunkin doughnuts and when two people were asked to take their beverage and leave because of the closure of inside dining, they attacked the manager… so the threat of violence is not just a threat any more it is real.

I once again I realized that I was a bit off topic with my post above, so to help steer this back to the OT. Here’s my list in order of importance/probable.

  1. Govt. shut our business down so no revenue, no mortgage payments. (hopefully the govt tells banks to stand down on collection efforts, a $1,000 carrot given to each American does nothing for me)

  2. Laid off our employees so they can’t make mortgage payments

  3. Civil unrest, causes a family member not at “our safe place” to be subject to violence.

  4. Our teenage daughter can’t grow up in a fun sunshiny world like we all did.

  5. Our kids grandparents or some of the health stressed family members get sick and die. (This may seem callus to have on bottom, but I still think the actual virus isn’t that lethal. Unless of course the numbers are being represented accurately.)

My top concern is that my 94 year old Mom may get exposed. She lives in an independent senior living facility and takes a medication that may affect her immune system. The facility has already cancelled all internal group functions, and once there is a single confirmed case in our county, the facility will lock down and shelter in place. I think that for most there, the solution may be worse than the disease. Remember what happened on cruise ships that were quarantined - they became like petri dishes with the disease spreading all over the inside of those ships.
I am giving serious consideration to taking my Mother out of the facility and putting her up in our house at some point - particularly if Anyone else in that facility gets the virus.

I “flippantly” answered this and 4 of my 5 were people being stupid. That is still how I feel. The longer this drags on, the more worried I get about the election.

A month ago, I thought Trump would get 4 more years. Now I’m not so sure that he will.

That scares me more than SARS, Covid 19, or people being stupid does.

This is Trump’s Katrina and he didn’t start out well.

Personal opinion, the comments on social media about food lines, TP lines, and shortages gave people a glimpse of socialism and I don’t think they liked it. Hopefully, everyone’s memory is longer than a few weeks.

I have to disagree. I think he started very well, with what he had. The Chinese didn’t give anyone enough information (a shock, I know) anywhere early enough (another shock).

Exactly. Yes. I also hope people remember…and we aren’t still in the midst of some panic-driven shortages in another eight months.
