What are your top 5 concerns about COVID-19?

I would submit that it is pretty early to be jumping to conclusions about what is more dangerous.

China has 4X our population. They have 80,881 cases and 3226 deaths (68,715 completely recovered), and they are on the down swing of this. The millions dead that the media occasionally suggests would seem a significant stretch, even for Michael Moore.

Please donā€™t believe the numbers out of China. They are as unscrupulous in their reporting as their are in their industrial espionage and trade dealings.

Still, millions dead seems very unlikely. I just checked deaths/symptomatic:
China 3.9%
Iran 6.1%
Spain 4.5%
Italy 7.7%

Even the symptomatic numbers are FAR from millions on the whole globe at 190,433.

Right now there have been 39 Million diagnoses of the Flu. It topped out at 7.1% and 7.3% is considered an epidemic. The flu is more widespread and has killed more. Either way, the same people are at risk and that would be those who are already immune compromised.
The flu has hit NYC harder than Covid-19.

Basically worried about nothing. My boyfriend and myself both have severe allergies and we both have minor asthma, and I smoke. I do not agree with ANYTHING the government is doing. We both have plenty of ammunition and spare magazines for our Ruger .380ā€™s and I have plenty of .357 for my biesley

Iā€™m with everyone else in just live your life as you would any other day unless you are the ones suffering from the shutdown of the restaurant, bars, casinos, and then I would say try to find another job to hold you up till everything gets back to normal. Iā€™m not worrying about any of this as itā€™s been blown out of proportion by everyone (especially the media) and we all know that the media has to do what they can to cause an uproar. I am a local truck driver and I am seeing the worst in humanity when almost everyone is doing the (me me me) hording and not leaving anything on the shelves for those not prepared for situations like this. Iā€™m going to live my life my way till I take my last breath and thereā€™s nothing in this world that can make me worry enough for me to go into a panic especially not no disease thatā€™s barely a blip on the radar compared to the Flu and how many it has killed over the centuries. Go out enjoy life by living your life and let the chips fall where they may and above all donā€™t worry about what you have no control over, because it will make you old before your time.

Iā€™m reading a death rate of 9% if you catch it (closed cases as of today).
Hereā€™s one way to look at it. If you catch it, you basically have to play Russian roulette with a 12 shot revolver.
Feel free. Me? No thanks.
Did you get a flu vaccine? I did. Did you get a CoVid 19 vaccine? Oh, they donā€™t make one yet.
The flu kills as many people as it does regardless of the fact that everyone and their brother is or should be immunized against it. Is the flu dangerous? Yes. Is COVID 19? Time will tell.

Read this. Itā€™s not just the elderly. Theyā€™re the ones being left to die to prioritize "the young and otherwise healthyā€™ par. 2.

Is this is the end of the world? Heck no. But it pays to be smart and limit your exposure, doesnā€™t it?

Not The End Of The World yetā€¦ we are far far away to that point

Everything has its consequences:
Man created SARS-CoV-2
Man spread it out
Man got sick
We were not prepare for thisā€¦
And now Man has to make very tough decisionsā€¦ who lives, who has to dieā€¦

Young man (21) died last night because of Covid-19ā€¦ he was recovering from leukemiaā€¦ that wasnā€™t time for him to dieā€¦

Again my boyfriend and I have asthma and severe allergies, I am not willing to stay home and only have my job to do and study to get a promotion and a raise.

No job provides constant fun, pleasure and satisfaction. All a job provides is an income and health care which I am happier without either of, I do not take my allergy or asthma medication unless I can hardly breathe and he makes me take it, and then I only do it for him.

I read that general fatality rate WITH hospital care available is 0.4%, but WITHOUT it, the rate goes up to 4%, i.e., ten-fold. I am praying the hospitals wonā€™t fill up to capacity. That people will stay out of the virus reach as long as possible, even if it is impossible to avoid it forever.

So my place of work will be closing for an unspecified amount of time due to this. Jokes on me though, essential personnel are still required to show up to work. I will be guarding an empty building. Going to make for some seriously long nights.

To add to my initial post, we were informed at work that we are considered ā€œEssential Supply Chainā€ employees. We were told to make sure we keep our badges in our vehicles. In the event of travel restrictions, we show our badge, and will be allowed to proceed to and from work. Part of me feels important, the other part says ā€œpapers pleaseā€ in a Gestapo kind of voice.

We own a large hospitality based company. We are in some serious serious trouble.
Many people rely on how my wife and I run our company to pay their mortgages.

We have been forced to close.

Every employee except 4 were laid off today.

We continue to get no sleep at night.

Sorry to hear that, brother. I will be praying for you.

What irritates me the most about what illinois has done by closing everything is:

  1. There is now nothing to do besides actually do my job, and study for promotions to get raises for absolutely no one and no reason, which will make my family proud, something I said I would never do since I was 17 years old and forced to do things for myself besides having fun.

  2. There is no way at all to spend my entire paycheck so I will not be able to overdraw the account every week and will accumulate money for no one.

  3. For the last 10 years I have been going to the bar every night after work and now there is no way to do that and enjoy alcoholic beverage consumption.

I also am forced to care about my health for no one at all. I refused to have a physical examination for 15 years and the only reason I did is my boyfriend forced me to and had to physically drag me to the clinic. I do not trust anyone in the medical profession and have no need for health care at all.
