@Dawn Can we please take the boogaloo language out of the new thread? It doesnāt help our message. Insurrection? Not a smart message. It would have been nice that everyone had respected an intelligent organizer, Mr. Van Cleave, and pressed our case that ānormalā citizens are going to be affected. Most of the Veterans I talked to were dressed like normal folks. No long-arms and battle rattle. Not many firearms on display from folks that had to go fight in foreign wars. I donāt doubt for a minute that many legislators have been receiving death threats to themselves and their family members. Think about that for a minute. I would like to convince other citizens that we do have a Second Amendment that was included for a very sound reason. Self-defense situations save 2 million lives a year? Responsible Americans respect that message. To keep tyrants in check, certainly.
We currently have politicians that want to undermine our constitutional rights. We need to do a better job convincing everyone that we are making responsible choices and preventing harm by defending ourselves and our families. We convince enough people with facts and maybe we can get enough votes to send a resounding message that will slow roll the real radicals.
What are good, practical solutions for decreasing mass shootings that everyone can get behind? That we are willing to spend our hard-earned wages on? We have plenty of laws now that are unenforceable due to lack of manpower. Some current laws are ineffective and some could be effective. Any ideas?
The rally was a success in many ways and I was glad to be a part of it. Plenty of very descent people came together for a common cause. Peaceable assembly. The work is not going to get any easierā¦

Could we really expect anything different? The left has an agenda and citizens possessing firearms stands in the way of that agenda. Iāve been to Auschwitz and seen the end result of tyranny. The left, socialist and communist always hang the banner of ITāS BEST FOR THE PEOPLE on their demonic plans. Our forefathers were willing to risk their fortunes, family and lives for freedom. The question now is: Are we willing to risk everything for freedom or are we so afraid of losing our Comfortable life styles to fight the good fight?
Iām proud of the 22,000 who stood in the cold in Virginia. Will this be the beginning of our fight or the end? Time will tell.

The Democratic-controlled firearms subcommittee of the Virginia House Public Safety Committee adjourned its meeting Tuesday after voting to reject 11 bills that would ease restrictions on gun-rights in Virginia.
Three bills that were shelved were introduced by Del. Del. John J. McGuire III (R-Goochland), including House Bill 161 , which would have allowed gun owners to carry a concealed handgun without a permit if they were otherwise eligible for one.
The panel also rejected multiple bills that would have permitted Virginians to bring firearms into places of religious worship.

Honestlyā¦I didnāt expect anything different. The Dem legislators feel they have a mandate from their constituents and will push forward regardless of any protest. They feel they have the votes to be re-elected (VA please prove them wrong!)
However, this rally has given us perhaps one of the greatest gifts that could have been given and that is the gift of SMASHING all of the stereotypes that the main stream media has propped up about the 2A community and done it on a National level. Going forward every time they attempt to paint the 2A as white supremacist, violent, hicksā¦we can point back to this rally. Every legislator that says āwe need to pass this gun control law for the safety of our citizensā will look disingenuous because this rally proved those laws/restrictions unnecessary.
Hollow victory? Maybe, but as @Harvey and I were postulating above, PR is clearly an area where the 2A community is losing this battle. This went a long way in making up some of that ground.

But Democratic lawmakers ā including House Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn and Senate Majority Leader Dick Saslaw ā told AP the rally wouldnāt impact their plans to pass gun-control measures, including universal background checks and a one-handgun-purchase-a-month limit.
But Iām still thinking itās an anchor for mobilizing the 2A community. When 22,000 people show up and the elected officials still say āmeh whateverā, either we give up, or we get busy. Iām going with get busy.

Also, and to be clear I am not promoting/advocating for any type of violence and/or uprisingā¦
but when you start adding up numbersā¦22k armed concerned citizens show up and your State Guard is only 7k strong at full call upā¦
and some of that 7k was part of the armed concerned citizens groupā¦and that many armed concerned citizens of that State could not make it out (perhaps balancing out of State participants)
Multiply that by 49 (minus Hawaii)ā¦carry the 2ā¦
I hope it makes candidates like Francis look closer at the numbers the next time they want to start postulating about the forcible removal of arms from law abiding citizens.

While Virginia Democrats are merrily approving gun control laws aimed at the stateās legal gun owners, they apparently arenāt interested in focusing on violent criminals who use firearms in the commission of a crime.
HB 1175 would have increased the penalty for using or brandishing a firearm while committing certain felonies, which seems like a pretty common sense bill to me. Instead, members of the House Public Safety Committee rejected the measure on Tuesday, while approving a number of gun bills that are meant to restrict the rights of legal gun owners in the name of public safety.

I lost track of the conversation. Still have a few braincells unthawing from Monday. I thought there was going to be a new thread starting in regards to the 2A legal counter-offensive in Virginia. When I see āGround Zeroā I think physical conflict. Ground Zero = Boogaloo.
We have a tough legal battle ahead of us, if Governor Northam follows his money trail, leading his merry pack of paid politicians down the āoppress the citizenā trail, we will have to challenge every ālawā that is shoved down our throats. Is that what is meant by Ground Zero?
