The police are all that stand between us and wholesale vigilantism. No one to call when a crime is committed. No one to call when you are robbed . None one to stop someone from robbing a store or a bank. No one to bring back your kidnapped child. Yes there are bad cops but then there are bad social workers as well. But the vast majority of police are there to protect and serve. There is no systemic racism in the police or you have to believe Black officers are racist. There cannot be a racist system that allows the majority to elect a minority twice as president of the US, With a minority Attorney General and eventually a minority secretary of state.
If anything we need more police with more training and more connection with the community. But what we don’t need is the ideas of Anarchists and Communists designed to destroy the only system that has held the back for fouling every society they have touched.
Social services will never work because we have no reason to pay any attention to them. A federal police force will not work because there would be no connection with the people and no protection for the federal force and their families in the communities they occupy. And we should have learned from the French night club disaster a federal force takes hours to respond to a need.
Those that are looking to defund the police are looking to dismantle the Republic. Once we become a socialist state we will also become a tribal country with district war lords and groups that will control an area till the Federal Police arrive and then like smoke fade into the surrounding area. Our police system is the best in the world. Our military may be the best in the world. When they are replaced someone else’s military will reform our Republic into something we will not recognize.
Our founding fathers gave us a Democratic Republic, “If we can keep it.” Do away with the police and justice system and we will have lost it.
This is exactly what they’re accused of. The names they’re called by these arrogant, often white, 20-something protesters is repulsive. The protesters are trying to get the police to react so they can get their viral video.
I saw suggestion aways back. Talking about sending unarmed Social workers out to deal with crime. I had a good laugh on that one. then thinking turned to the serious side. Folks making these suggestions should really look in to taking some Criminal Pysch courses. And a study of the Criminally insane to that also.
There’s a full spectrum. There are the truly peaceful protesters to gather or march along approved routes and are trying to be heard. On the other end, there are rioters who often hide behind the protesters; they just want to loot and vandalize, and typically have no interest in the protesters’ cause. There are a lot of people between these two points: protesters who seek to intimidate, protesters who disrupt, and even protesters who are swayed by agitators and become rioters. But it’s a pretty common tactic for a lot of different people to agitate the police while someone else shoots cell phone video. They’re trying to get a reaction.
Interesting thoughts. Probably 25 years ago, while I was still in the Army, I went to Romania with my pastor. In the course of the trip, I was asked how it was possible to be a Christian and in the military. I explained that we have a deep-seated ethos of service to the country and the citizens, not to the political leadership or some warlord. I explained that the vast majority of Soldiers would refuse to violate the law and would refuse to fire on civilians.
Unless the civilians are armed and actively trying to attack the military force, the military cannot be counted on to fire on civilians.
I heard a Seattle area police were called and they were told by a guy he was suicidal. The police knocked and no one answered. Police left a note to call his girlfriend or a social worker. He was found dead later.
Defund those who call for defunding police or support it in any way. If we don’t stop these criminals what good is it to have a constitution!?
