Reload recipe = 158 grain semi-wide cutter, coated, match bullet -
5 1/2 grains of accurate #5 powder.
Federal small, pistol match.
875 FPS.
Smith & Wesson model 19.
25 ft. Slow fire.
How was the trigger pull on that Model 19 ?
Out of the box ; Target triger & hammer ; as good as it gets.
This is one I will take to the grave.
Been shooting it for + 50 years.
What would be a difference in your shooting then? Both 25 ft, slow fire…
Different sight picture hold?
Depending upon the gun itself will determine which sight picture / alignment to use.
but you already know this!
What if the sights don’t line up that way at all?
You would have to explain to me what you are saying.
We made it clear on PM. @Blacky knows, that his revolver uses 6 o’clock hold and pistol uses center hold.
So it’s obvious if you aim at center with 6 o’clock sight setup, your POI is gonna be high.
And this was what happened.
At least he knows it…
Always know your firearms…
@Karacal If the sights don’t line up that way at all, then the iron sights aren’t being used, which possibly, red/green dot optics are being used.
and red or green dots need to be zeroed to a certain distance.
So, does the dot go over the center of the target?
Love those sites.
They can also show your position in low light, because they glow so brightly. I don’t have any of those sites, but I I love them. Some of my firearms have tritium sights on them that work very very well, their life expectancy is approximately five years, whereas the beehive can last indefinitely.
Hopefully you didn’t personally learn instinct shooting ; ( shooting accurately with no sites ; includes shooting from the hip.
