In 2017 NRA marketed a defense plan called NRA Carry Guard, competing with USCCA and similar programs, but it was not tied to NRA membership; it was a completely separate program. However, since NRA is a New York corporation, NY authorities immediately went after Carry Guard using legal and insurance laws and had it shut down within two years.
There has been no attempt at NRA to revive the idea.
That makes me laugh pretty hard at that. The NRA was having a rough patch back then anyway. LawShield is still an option, but I preferred the continuity offered with a USCCA Life membership. Both are good products, but I’m Convinced that USCCS adapts faster to changes and adaptations. There are some trash talkers I saw on YouTube, but I’m not convinced that they are the “end all, be all” of the self defense industry.
