I am a chef, I always have a knife that will cut you if you look at it wrong!
I gotta admit, I’m super jealous. I don’t have any cool knives like you guys do.
I am very adamant about sharpening my own knives. I use wet stones.
My Dad and I were both Meatcutters. Sometime in the 70’s the health dept. banned wooden handle knives because they held too much bacteria. So we were able to acquire these rather cheaply. The larger ones were what we called steak knives The largest here are 12" blades. I made sheathes for some of them, just for fun. Not carry knives by far-- just my collection.
I have a professional maintain mine. I have a stress tremor that can cause me to damage my blades. However, any blade I have is for me to use. I don’t have safe queens, I have a use for them all. Once I use one up, I have a discard basket that I put em in. Doesn’t mean they are useless. Just means I won’t carry them.
Discards, 1 each of a pair
Just switched to a pair of these
I really like the pair I just changed to. A machinist in Oregon makes them on the side. Nice solid weight to them, clean minimalist look.
Here are the 6 knives in my EDC drawer.
The OTF Infidel was my EDC of choice for 7ish years but has become unreliable now even after many cleanings.
The blue BM Osbourne is once again my EDC of choice as the Infidel kicked it to the curb upon purchase.
The others get the occasional carry. The Green handled one is my go to knife when going to a nice steak house as I prefer to cut my steak and not shred it.
Tactical banana FTW!
These are some assorted knives which I don’t EDC anymore.
These are some that are in my EDC rotation and depending what firearm I EDC the matching knife comes with it.
That first one is a shaving razor, right? I have an old one just not that fancy. I used to have the sharpening strap, but I don’t know what happened to it.
April Issue of USCCA concealed carry magazine pages 72 through 77 has a good article on classic Buck knives.
If I laid all my knives, swords and machete’s out in a row, I doubt I would be able to get them all in one picture. ![]()
That’s why mine are being posted a few at a time.
