@Spence I had the same passing thought when I heard this and said the same to Nancy.

Uh oh, ban on tactical shotguns especially semi-auto shotguns and the ones with a pistol grip that make it look like a weapon of war.

Don’t most states already have Red Flag laws? How did the FBI interview this guy last year and not doing anything about him?

I believe if there was some which carried there would have been fewer lives lost.

There are more than a few of us thinking as much. How is it that all these events coincide so closely to the most aggressive anti-2a agenda to come out of Congress in decades?

What would you want them to do? Think about it. If a family member or friend of yours talk to the authorities because they don’t like you having firearms would you want them to come and take them from you. Some here including myself don’t agree with red flag laws. But because we have God given rights that our Constitution protects and puts limitations on the government just because they spoke to the individual should they have the right to remove his or hers firearms. At the time they spoke to him no crime was committed and he probably didn’t admit he was going to commit a crime during the interview. I know there are some that say the government should have done more. But be careful what you wish for. We don’t want thought police coming an arresting you because of what you think. I know I for one would never ever talk to any type of government officials be it local, state or federal without an attorney by my side. The only way to get me to have an interview with them would be with a warrant and the conversation would start off with me telling them ā€œI want my lawyer, and until they get here I invoke my 5th admend. rightā€. So yes will people who are intent on doing harm benefit from this protection of our Constitution that a crime first has to be committed before they can actually do anything. Yes. But I still want that protection for myself and all other Americans.

My only comment here is according to reports, they did remove a weapon from his home. They clearly had some concerns but failed to fully act on it. Similar to one of the church shootings in TX. Man was dismissed from the Air Force for domestic violence but nobody reported it or filed it so he bought a rifle, filled out forms, and system did not flag him. A few days later he killed several people and. A good man with his AR stopped him. We do not need any new laws, but we do need the people that operate within the current laws to do their job.

I saw the IN atty Gen on the news this morning. He stated that the ERPO/ red flag laws there are basically toothless.
As much as I would hate to be subjected to unlawful seizure, it definitely failed in this instance.
One more media frenzy of blaming guns instead of mental health anyone?

Nope. Not the pandemic. It’s liberals. Liberals in charge, liberals go nuts. They go nuts because they think they can get away with it. Ever wonder why these shootings only take place when liberal POS’s are in charge?? THINK ABOUT IT!!!

Every one is blaming the pandemic for what is happening in America, politicians for power gain, others for their mistakes.
But the reality is that America put God asides and a country without the living God and His Word, is a country in caos.
America needs to come
Back to the Bible values, family and real friends.
America is in rebellion against God and the only hope, JesusChrist.

Suddenly having so many mass shootings, is starting to come across as staged by you know who, just to ā€œadjustā€ our gun laws, or take them away from law abiding citizens. I find it really odd that all these mass shootings are happening one after the other, and at the very same time, Mr. Biden who currently resides in the white house, keeps signing away our rights and changing the constitution one day at a time, chipping away at what our founding father worked so hard to put together. Do not miss understand me, or write me negative comments back on any kind. Any mass shooting is a huge tragedy and unnecessary loss of precious life. Sending prayers to all the families, friends and neighbors affected by each person who died way ahead of their time…

Honestly… These mass shootings have nothing to do with the pandemic. Unfortunately… we’re giving our kids too many materialistic items and not enough quality time!

Condolences. I still appreciate my right to own and carry. Have had family die where firearms were involved. Used to work at an organization where a former coworker was a shooter who killed innocent persons at a place of business, related to domestic violence. My personal reaction was not on the extreme end of wanting firearm freedoms stripped, but I can respect some laws, programs to help others, such as mental health services, and programs for youth at risk.

I’m hearing the anti-gunners are focusing on larger volume/higher capacity semi-auto pistols, and all semi-auto rifles. However, as others have posted elsewhere, the sheer mass amount of those owners and businesses, and those states which are most pro-gun (my future neighbors), it’s an uphill battle, but anti-gunners gain steam from more hearts and minds each time another sad report is on the news.

I get hit from both sides, the anti-gunners do not see eye to eye with me, and many of my brothers and sisters within the 2A community – I’d be lucky to be allowed to sleep in their dog house. When I mention finding an unhappy medium (middle road), that will never go over well with either side, but my humble guess is that’s the direction it’s headed, as the forces on both sides might balance it out, almost like a ship on the ocean, not tipping over to one side. It reminds me of some counties and states who have set enough restrictions. However, if the anti-gunners encroach too far for me, then I know I have to stand up. I don’t have to like them, but I respect them.

Stay safe, in good health, and reach out to those down souls who might need your wise ear, and comfort.
