The know-it-all has spoken, we obviously are all a bunch of idiots. He is so sure of himself that he wonā€™t even research the CDC site to verify facts.

Michael, I do not need to provide you links, not only was it reported by the CDC, it was reported in the news. If you donā€™t believe it, research yourself, that is what learned people do, learn for themselves. They do not need their noses thrust in it like a dog, but since you insisted, here you go. It took all of about 2 seconds to type and search the Internet. But you would rather write long replies claiming how stupid we are instead.

First news source I found here that had a link to the CDC Report. There were, of course, numerous hits, but maybe you will do the research yourself, next time - squish, squish.

lolā€¦ okay tough guy

I spent just a few moments with your biased link and found a flaw that disqualifies itā€¦
ā€œWhile the study notes that some of these people may have contracted the virus from the few moments that they removed their mask to eat or drink at ā€œplaces that offer on-site eating or drinking,ā€ the CDC concedes that there is no successful way to evaluate if that was the exact moment someone became exposed and contracted the virus.ā€

So, itā€™s not science because they have no clue when these transmissions occurred.itā€™s opinionā€¦the variables have to be controlledā€¦ Also, this article shows the importance of all parties wearing masksā€¦ If I wear a mask that limits my transmission to youā€¦If you donā€™t wear a mask, your droplets still land all around and on the maskā€¦which can then be easily transferred when adjusting or removing the maskā€¦ If all parties wear a mask, the majority of their droplets stay in their masksā€¦ simple

Anyways Davessssssssssā€¦both of yaā€¦ Iā€™m gonna leave yā€™all to itā€¦ Thereā€™s nothing to be gained from us talking further. You guys are fixed in, and a bit emotional about this subject. Take it easy

The CDC is a biased source now? Wow!

So, what is the source of your COVID-19 information? Personal medical research? Have you published your paper or had it peer-reviewed?

Also, Michael, I did state that the news story was the first link I found, not the only one. I could have posted numerous links, but I made my point, and you yours - you are not interested in facts. Do the research, post your links refuting that the CDC did not publish that report stating what it did in their report.

No not a tough guy, just a God fearing man whose been around for awhile. I donā€™t care for folks who think they know whatā€™s best for everyone else. As stated somewhere if you wear a mask that protects you and me. Have fun with your essay. 'night

Referring to your link and their interpretation of the research. Also, I posted links earlierā€¦ With factsā€¦ And video proofā€¦ You werenā€™t interested lolā€¦
Take it easy Dave and Dave

My link and their interpretation of research? So you refute the CDC report? Any facts to back that up? You posted no links to refute the CDC report.

Where did I state I was uninterested in any data you might have? What I stated is the CDC refutes your claim about masks in their report, and that you wanted me to provide you a link to it that any idiot with an Internet connection could find. You then failed in providing links to refute that the CDC did not report what they did, and still have not. You have been called on your game, and you lack the credit to play.

You should have stopped there. It may have been more effective or had more influence. There are enough right, left, middle sources out there for everyone one to find a ā€œfactā€ that supports their own version whether they are actual facts or not. Funny how people do wear their seatbelts, go a safe speed through a school zone, and have their actions restricted in a million ways every day, but when they donā€™t want to do something it is ā€œsocialist control.ā€ Makes it easier to defy something that would be common courtesy in another day and age.

In an oversimplification, this happened 100 years ago and people got tired of the precautions or ignored them and another 100,000 Americans died, my wifeā€™s grandparents were two of those. My good friends lost their grand father to COVID after 21 days on a ventilator, alone in the hospital while he died. He had no preexisting conditions. One of my godsons spent a week in hospital with the first case of pediatric COVID in the state, my sister spent a week in hospital with it in GA and now has continuing lung issues. Another good friendā€™s father died of it after being on a ventilator for who knows how long. 8 elderly people in my church congregation have had it, three died.

But yes, letā€™s just take off the masks and let everyone get it so there is herd immunity, ā€œand everyone will be healthy,ā€ except those that die, itā€™s just their sacrifice for the good of everyone else.

Dave, you are being petty and simpleā€¦ both of those things. Letā€™s play thoughā€¦

  • I quoted the right wing rag that you linkedā€¦not the article. Therefore, I was quoting the interpretation of the article by the right wing rag that you linked. You still with me?
  • Letā€™s dig into your article. Your article is actually making the case that we should close restaurants because people that have tested positive are significantly more likely to have reported that they had recently been to a restaurant. You and the right wing rag are attempting to use this PRO SHUT DOWN article to make the point that masks are ineffective. Thatā€™s not what this article does though. This article focuses on other risk factors that contribute to our covid numbersā€¦The article I posted above focuses on masksā€¦The video I postedā€¦focuses on visual evidence displaying the effectiveness of masks at reducing droplets in the airā€¦and the variables are controlledā€¦I could find 20 articles that show the effectiveness of masks to every one you could find that says they arenā€™tā€¦There is a reason that you went to a right wing rag to start your research.

A few minutes of searching

Alrightā€¦ Iā€™m going to leave the last word to you. I really donā€™t want to be getting caught up in negativity on the forum for the insurance I purchased so I would be covered if I have to defend myself. I said at the beginning of my involvement in this threadā€¦that I probably wasnā€™t going to be too popular for not falling in line with you allā€¦ I was rightā€¦ we can leave it at that, and get back to talking about guns and such.

You have had it very rough Shep. Iā€™m sorry for your losses. Youā€™re also right. I should have left itā€¦ Going to do so now.

Hang in there. Things will get better.

Iā€™m so tired of people that donā€™t fact check the information that the mainstream media is giving you and instead you listen to it and think itā€™s fact. But if you did your own fact check instead of listening to Media you would realize that this virus is no more deadly than the flu. The 200 + 1000 people that have died from covid-19, only 12,000 of them actually died from covid-19. The others yes might have had covid-19 but they died of complications of heart disease lung disease and other pre-existing problems of that nature. It wasnā€™t just covid-19 that killed them.

Now, if you would fact check this you would know that the flu has killed more. What you donā€™t know is because the mainstream media doesnā€™t tell you this, is that hundreds of thousands of people have died from the flu that have had complications from lung to heart problems pre-existing. But of course the mainstream media doesnā€™t tell you that because the covid-19 is a political virus and they donā€™t want you to know that itā€™s no different than the flu.

Alright folks, letā€™s keep the discussion civil and respectful here. We can all have differing opinions but we need to do so respectfully.

Letā€™s all stay cool about it. I know itā€™s early but it may be time for a beer!

Ok,
A little bit OT on my own post,
But Weā€™ve had itā€¦ The wife and I are banning the national news again. It stresses us out to much and there is not a thing in the world we can do about any of it. So no more Sirius -Beck, Willkow, Fox, or Internet- Fox, The Blaze.

With this said, for the next , lets say 3 months, only Sirius- Rural/Ag Radio, Jeff Foxworthy/The Cable Guy, Old time radio, gunsmoke, dragnet, Jack Bennyā€¦

Anyway, as long as we can look out of our front window and everything looks the same, weā€™re happy.
