It is more likely not to have a wrongful death if we are armed. If not there is no point in us having guns and our whole purpose is for naught.
A company I used to work for BellSouth SE had a new sign placed on the gate to our work center the advised us firearms are forbidden on company property, I didn’t like that very much.
So I had my attorney send their corporate offices a notice informing them should something happen to me as a result of not being able to lawfully defend myself the company will be held liable for any injuries up to and including a wrongful death.
A couple of weeks later i was called into my managers office for a meeting with corporate security.
I was advised my letter had been reviewed by legal and the signs will be coming down, but then the security guy commented “however you are still not allowed to carry a gun on company property,” I looked at him and replied “I guess I’m going to have to call my attorney again because you don’t seem to be able to catch on very quickly as to what my rights are.”
My manager looked like he wanted to crawl under his desk and hide, the reason being no one who wants to keep their job talks back to corporate security.
The security guy stated this meeting is over you can go to work, I replied no I’m very upset and getting sick and am going home to relax and then will call my attorney about your threat.
I fully expected the company to begin the process to build a package on me with the intent of firing me.
Almost a month later I received a certified letter sent to me care of the work center address, my manager had signed for it.
It was from legal advising that since I have a valid Florida concealed carry license the no guns on company property policy didn’t apply me to me.
It was worded in a manner it seemed to only applied to me not anyone else in the work center, I think that was their way of nullifying my argument without broadening it to apply to anyone else.
I took it as a win but wasn’t happy because I wanted it to apply company wide but since I was no longer being harmed I had nothing left to stand on.
However later I discovered I wasn’t the only employee who received that letter, from what I learned a number of other employee’s who objected to the companies gun policy received the same letter.
So in reality they did back down quite a bit.
One thing I truly regret is not taking that sign down myself and taking it home as a souvenir.
Welcome
“If you hum a few bars?.. ”
“That would have been cool Brother… For me though I would have put a few rounds through it before
it was suitable for FRAMING!”
Hello and welcome @Jeff262 great first post.
Where I live in Pa, if that sign is up, you can simply IGNORE it. The only trouble you may have is if they ask you to leave and you don’t, then it is trespass. I do this all the time, then tell the owners why I won’t be shopping in their stores. Like McDonalds or Burger King, among others.
Not LensCrafters. I will reveal them only if my efforts to talk with them are met with disdain. I will continue to be polite, but I won’t tolerate being insulted. To be continued!
I am so confused. They are the first business you’ve seen with such a sign? I do not live in a communist state and I see those signs everywhere.
I continually pity the poor good people who struggle in 3rd world Kalifornia!
Speakin’ of (3rd) worlds Russ I live in Nogales North (NM)
I rarely see a ‘NO Guns’ sign out here because all the Blu Balls
KNOW guns are Dangerous, can just go off! and it’s owner can be

Good for you. Stand up against the bullshit and communist agenda.
Agree it is weird. We are currently fighting new legislation (SB2) that basically makes everyplace a “sensitive place” and defaults to businesses having to specifically ALLOW carry with a sign. Perhaps this one is because of this. I am in Commiefornia, but in a county that is still purple. Very safe, but definitely different than even 10 years ago.
I tend to call it Commiefornia.
Calillogica or Absurdistan.
Did you see that movie ROAD HOUSE WITH PATRICK SWATZY AND SAM ELLEIT. AND THE BIG FOOT TRUCK DROVE THROU THAT DEALERSHIP
Please do follow up because you never know
Great story and that’s exactly what I’m talking about.
People will walk all over your rights if you allow them to
If you’re seeing those signs everywhere, it sounds like you have your work cut out for you😊
I need to add some signs are required by state law and there’s not much you can do about those other than work through your legislators
