Glock Gen 6

Glock has just announced Generation 6 of their products.

G17 Gen6, G19 Gen6, and G45 Gen6 - all in 9mm

Any thought about it?

I’m not shooting Glocks, so I’m not going comment anything, but my personal expectation was FCU.

And this is Glock’s response:

What’s Actually New

Glock resisted the industry trend toward modular fire control units. Instead, they maintained the proven one-piece frame design and focused on ergonomics that actually matter during shooting

I like the looks of it. Figure if you like Glocks you’ll like this. If you don’t like Glocks you might like this with the grip change but probably won’t.

I’m not sure about that prominent beaver tail in the back. It looks uncomfortable for aiwb to me. Looks like the mounting system is an improvement over the MOS. It does use a polymer crush plate for some optics. I’m not sure how I feel about that, I’d prefer to just pick an option that direct mounts.

Looks like a Glock, but it looks like they actually did make changes with the grip and the flat trigger. Biggest changes I think they’ve made from one gen to the next.

I’m a Glock fan so I’m interested. I also don’t see any urgency to update or grab one until I feel like setting up a new gun. Like all new guns, I like them to be on the market for at least a year, give them time to make adjustments or work out any issues. I recall gen 5 had a mag well gap designed to help handle malfunctions, but everyone hated it because it rubbed their hand bad. Glock adjusted that fairly quick.

Beavertail may help with shooters with big mitts or those that grip high. The glock bite sucks

It is so much fun; they already have the conversion kit to turn them back to the good old FRT from the last model. What a JOKE. Money wasted on redesign and retooling. To appeal to people who have probably never shot a gun.
Just a reminder, it is YOUR job to get a non-shooter out to the range and point out the fun that it can be and the safety you can have with a well-adjusted person with a gun. Sorry, Ron/Don, this doesn’t apply to you, just well-adjusted people. I do have some honorable mentions also in this category, but they can wait for another time.
Myself, I just took another new shooter to the range last week. What have all you true patriots done to help the A2 movement? This does not include just standing on a soapbox spewing rubbish next to the guy on the other soapbox saying the world will end Tuesday.

Putting words into action.

Still comes with plastic sights, in this video they are aftermarket

Do people actually use stock sights?

I like that they finally put a thumb perch on the frame. That was not on any of my previous gen Glocks.

That’s one thing another cheap gun maker, Taurus, has been doing for a while.

They changed the trigger shoe to a flat face but the trigger itself has not changed

Who doesn’t like a girl with dimples?

P.S. I love the nineteen fifties decor.

Glock sights sucks. You would think that after decades of consumers bitching, they would provide something better. They dont change much else, at least give something useful.

I sometimes feel it is like a drug dealer; they give you just enough to get you hooked, and then they get you on the upgrades to heroin, I mean sights.

And release the Gen 6 just before Christmas, they could have just skipped the V and went to 6 but then California would have thrown another hissy fit

Just what every person is looking for under their tree for Christmas. For you that like holiday trees. I will just refer you back to its beginnings. The festive Tannenbaum tree—yes, another thing other than highways and the Volkswagen the Germans gave us. Oh yeah, rockets. Can’t forget rockets. We love our rockets. The navy has been working on a new Duck Hunt-esque game with boats.

I won’t buy a new glock, got my reasons but a missile with launcher would be cool.

So if Glock made those available (missiles), you would then buy a Glock launcher. Other than that, no Glock for you.

As long as I don’t live in California, then yes, I would buy a Glock missle, 2 of them!

LOL, I was just asking to see where @Joel106 could be morally compromised. Hell yeah, I would own a few, mainly to place around the island to make sure I am safe from family dropping in. Well, other than using the missiles and dropping them in the ocean.

If glock made a launcher with missiles for average consumer use, yes.

Even if it would be made out of plastic and cheap sights, wouldn’t matter. It wouldn’t last long. Still no new glocks. Fairly certain the missiles thing won’t happen so you can throw what ifs out all you want
