Bad experience w/Jack in the early days. Now I stick with bourbon.
Knock on wood, never had a hangover with bourbon.

My minimum bourbon for mixing is Bulleit. I also like Remington bourbon and rye. As for sipping, Knob Creek, Woodford, and Four Roses. A step up if I want to celebrate are Elmer T. Lee and Blantons (hard to find here in Wisconsin anymore). Of course, I would love Pappy Van Winkle but can’t afford it. The few bars around here that have it keep it in a safe.

For me, Margarita would be the bartender serving my Manhattan. Actually, you can never get them like you make them when you’re home; they’re never quite right.

I have one of these as well. If memory serves me correctly, Lux row charcoal filters this one; quite the hug considering the mash bill and the filtering.

I think if you mix good with bad the best you could come up with is mediocre. If you want to develop your own unique blend the result should be better than any of the ingredients tasted individually. IMHO.
