The ballistic equivalent would be to give you a few grains of powder and a bullet but no brass or primer… I think.
I remember when rear bumpers for a pickup were an add-on/optional accessory when buying a new truck.
I live in a rural area, so I carry my .380 around the property because we do have predators that frequent the neighbor hood. Extra mag in back pocket just in case a cougar decides to become overly aggressive. I do not carry in public because my state has become another commiefornia and charges a FEE for the right to carry concealed. smh
i pay $50 every five years. small price to pay.
Carry an extra mag. Check out what Clint Smith at Thunder Ranch has to say about it on YouTube. It’s always a good idea.
The consensus is the same. I carry an extra mag in the event of a malfunction.
I carry a compact 9mm, 7 rounds in the mag. Yes I carry a spare mag. I carry in a ‘Muddy River Tacitcal’ IWB holster that has ‘The Claw’ that pushes against your belt that pushes the gun grip into your side a little better preventing printing. I also have their extra-mag carrier. Good question Chris11.
Hello,
It’s a difficult decision to make but I have carried an extra magazine because you never know what might happen. But on the flip side if you can’t hit what you need to with one magazine you might rethink carrying. But it comes down to what makes you feel comfortable, if you feel better with the extra mag then carry. I’ve been a CCW holder in California for over 5 years and I feel better knowing I have it. Remember it’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
Thanks for reading this.

Welcome to the family and you are in the right place at the right time.
Good news for you!!! 9th CCoA ruled the 10 round limit no good!!

One extra may have been enough when mobs didn’t roam the streets and claim looting as reparations…
But in today’s environment, what would you do if this was you, remember your wife is in the car…

That was a clear representation of disparity of force and their intentions were to kill! If he did try to run them down, different laws apply. I will say this, DON’T BECOME a REGINALD DENNY!
If he dies, wife dies. Carry a minimum of 128 rounds, give or take, whenever I leave the house! I carry specifically to save life! Mine, my loved ones. If I witnessed that from a short distance, I don’t know. What Ido know, is I wouldn’t be in the area.
If this starts to come TOWARDS me and peaceful neighborhoods, all bets are off!
that is a Great question , most answers will be YES carry extra magazines but imo it is a matter of choice . me personally I Do not party , I am very selective on the places a go , I have no enemies , I do not go to sketchy places and I Conceal carry a full size pistol so it is hard to carry it concealed with extra magazines . my magazines are 7 round capacity so yeah I am short of ammo . I am currently trying to figure out a way to have more rounds near me I have thought about carrying two extras on my car in case they are needed but I Have not gotten a tactical plan for it yet
You know that I bought a rifle a few years back, a Ruger American with a 3 or 4 round mag. Well the sales at Ruger lady asked me why I wanted 6 more mags, she says you know it only holes x number of rounds. I told her yes I know but the DUMB BUTTS making the rules do not realize it only takes about 2.6 seconds to change a mag. So , always carry and extra mag no matter how many rounds it takes to fill it.
When you live in Kalifornia having an extra magazine only makes sense, because otherwise, you only have ten rounds. Was a up at our Sacramento home recently when the SHTF and I only had two hand guns and 5 magazines with me. The rioters were about 2.5 miles away. I felt under prepared, but I knew I would be taking some with me.
I agree with you 100% ever since this world went crazy I refuse to become a victim
It is better to have and not need, than to stand there wanting.
I carry 2 extra magazines, but they are between 14 and 17 rounds. I also wear heavy cargo pants with spair pockets. The weight has to be covered due to the gear. 9 and 10 mm, .40 caliber. Depends what I used that week.
in a similar thread I answered this way
“I guess someone needs to go somewhat against the trend on this. Maybe it’s because of where I live, the environment, the people, population density, or whatever, but I personally know no one who carries a extra mag. or revolver speed loader on their person as their normal day to day practice. Again, I’m talking on their person and not in their vehicle or home. I’ll grant you that I’m part of the ‘elder’ group and we are not prone to going into higher risk situations. Most of us carry what I call “get off of me” guns. Personally I don’t see me being able or needing to reload because the odds are long I will ever be in a bad situation that will not be settled in seconds. This is not to say I never have or never will again carry spare mags, only saying that my normal practice is not to carry ‘extra’. If I lived in a high crime rate area, high population density, moved in large crowds, etc. then I might do it differently.”
My point of view being I can not envision a situation where in the very close quarters I would use my pocket gun (LCP or LCRx) I would ‘need’ the extra mag. The first mag will end the encounter one way or another. Again, not a absolute never, just saying in my normal area and mode I don’t feel the need.
I always carry a extra mag never know what might happen or how many people may be there that gives me 25 shots if ne
