My wife has always known my views on firearms and self-defense. She has her CCW and carries these days as well. I don’t beat around the bush, and I don’t like wasting mine or others time either. The world can sometimes be a f-ed up place, and I can’t always be around 24/7 to take that bullet if needed, so you better be prepared to save yourself is what I have always told her. All the 3rd wave self-empowering feminism self-defense classes in the world doesn’t change body mass and muscle advantages provided by biology. 124g +p on the other hand has a habit of leveling the playing field.

I purchased my first actual firearm during my 14 year marriage. (I came to the table with airguns, archery gear and bladed weapons,(midevil reenactment/ self defense))
After the divorce, I came to the table with a small arsenal when I started dating….
None of them had issue with the guns, but one thing or another ended it.

If you missed that ex girlfriend because she doesn’t like gun, go back to the range and work on your aim for the next time.
Ok, joke aside. If you’re really in love with someone and everything is going great, communication and compromise can go a long way. Maybe she’s scared of guns and you can educate her over time, I’ve seen that before. If guns are a deal breaker for her, it’s a tough decision. Are you willing to give up a passion for her? Only you can answer that question. Personally, if no discussion or compromise on guns, I couldn’t keep that relationship going.

There’s not a real pressuring reason to bring it up, you’re not lying about it. But yeah, I guess I suggest keeping it to yourself. Deal with it then, if a cop ever does ask if you have weapons.
I’d advise not to bring it in their house either…maybe keep a lock box in your car or lock box in your bookbag.
But yeah, at least for the first 3 months getting to know someone new, keep it to yourself
I think it should be a secret no matter which gender. It’s almost like saying, you have a stack of cash hidden at your place. That sure got my interest, now I want to come over, not cause I like you but because I know you have money. Anyone could be crazy. And if they’re desperate enough, they’ll try to get what you got
I think it puts YOU at more risk by telling someone Personal safety is great, but keep it personal. You don’t want to become a target.
I want you to stay safe and a gun could make things more dangerous with the wrong people. Knowledge is power, Don’t give people that power so soon.

I’ve been trying to make it go away for awhile because having no place to shoot anymore, I mean sand ranges where you gotta pack up ur stuff and drive with a bunch of people there and most of them are 100 yds at best ain’t my bag and I can’t get used to it as I like sitting on the porch and shooting like we used to, sorry bout the rambling but what I’m trying to make go away is for the last 45 yrs or so I fell asleep thinking about guns and it was my first thought when I would wake up so if I met a gal that hated or even disliked guns I’d just say “ may as well just not waste our time getting serious about anything” Having said that if she just wanted to roll around in the sheets I could care less what she liked LOL ! ! !
