I also wear a gun belt with my shorts. Works well for me. I have 2 bifferent bellydands I tried and although very comfortable they dont work very well for a 250lbs. fat guy, thats for sure. I appendix carry every day in shorts and have no issues and thats with 3 different firearms in my rotation. Holster is the key to comfort in my opinion.
@Zee - Can the corset be modified for gentlemen’s use ??
No corset for me. WW2 style shoulder holster /.45 with my black Speedos. Love that black leather.
I use alien gear ShapeShift iwb and have for years never have had any problems carry my spare magazine in a Gerber multi tool holster.
Did you ever do this? I just came across this forum. Thank you!

@Jon115 Welcome!
Welcome to the forum, @Jon115.
As it turned out, back then I moved away from that particular project in favor of other concerns. When I was ready to get back to it I had lost over 50# and switched to appendix carry. Consequently, shorts and a sturdy belt hold my EDC quite well so I haven’t resurrected the “cargo pocket holster shorts” yet.
Now that you mention it though, that would make a good winter project. Hmmmmm.
I am interested in your shorts and pants for winter. right now I have a colonostamy bag and can’t wear a belt. The short and pants sounds like they would be perfect for me. please keep me updated with your progress. [email protected] thank you for your time and ideas
Greetings, David1719, welcome to the community, my friend, and thanks for joining us!
@david1719 Welcome my friend. Great post. I cannot wear a belt due to issues following transplant surgery in my case. I have come to really like the Viktos USCCA bag off body carry, shoulder holster carry, compression t-shirt with the underarm built-in holster and a belly band. I use a trigger guard for the last two. Which is determined by what I am doing each day. In my case I use O2 concentrators, a rollator to ambulate, so I have been working on this for 3 years. Each of those would avoid the bag line. And I have no idea why the bag, but people don’t usually get them because they have nothing else to do. So, you have been added to my daily prayer list.
You may also wish to get a portable gun safe that works in a vehicle. I always forget, the hospital won’t let you carry inside. For me that means getting a little stealthy and relying on legal blade power while the gun is safely locked and cabled in the vehicle.
