Spring Wardrobe Change?

Spring is in the air (hopefully)! That means it’s time to start shedding some of the heavier clothing for more summer-like apparel.

With the changing of the seasons do you change your holster or your carry?

Summer is in the air more like. It’s hotter than hell and I feel like I’m wearing a fig leaf. Anyone got any decent recommendations for a holster that’s good for orifice carry?

I don’t really make any deliberate changes, I just have fewer options. I can get away with a lot more during Winter without drawing unwanted attention to myself. With lighter clothing and fewer layers, I have to be a little more careful about staying comfortable while carrying, and not exposing my firearm or printing through my clothing.

So for example, I’ll probably pocket carry a little derringer more often. It’s not that I can’t lug around a service pistol somewhere under a loose Summer shirt, but I’m less inclined to do so.

Here in the desert areas of AZ, we have the lightweight clothing issue year round, so there’s really not much of a change. Although it was easier to hide the COVID19#'s with a light jacket or windshirt.

Pocket carry so nothing changes for me.

From 4 o’clock to 12 o’clock dependent on destination. If I’m in a crowd/line, AIWB.

I will carry my M&P 9mm Shield Plus in an AIWB holster and a spare magazine. Wardrobe stays the same every spring/summer. Shorts and tank top tucked in and a t-shirt or button down over that untucked.

I generally don’t change my gear due to weather. But I am gonna give Alien Gear’s new Low Pro belly band holster a try this summer. It might broaden the options for which shorts I can wear while biking, running around, or wading through streams, etc.

I have two listed handguns on my CC permit (it’s a Kalifornia thing) and I tried before to rotate them.
I didn’t like it and I ended up carrying the same piece 365 days a year.
One winter, I still dream of carrying a full size 1911.

I change my carry Ammo. Cold weather is 230 grain +p. Warm weather, 185 grain +p. Beyond that, holster, belt, pistol, etc are all the same.

No real change but, no jacket and no ankle holster. Still carry at AIWB, and 4 O’clock. Knife at 11:00 and pocket knife,… in my pocket.

On the clock for concealed I carry a hammer less snub nose in a pocket holster summer or winter. Due to Duluth Trading Co having the same style in both shorts and pants there’s no change.
On my own time, depending on what I’m wearing, carrying, and doing I have a variety. From the compact on the ankle for formal wear, to the full size’s either IWB or OWB…
I do love options.

1911 or Glock. I like the Glock a little more because it is lighter. Wider handle though.

I managed to find a number of heavier long-sleeve cotton shirts with snaps instead of buttons. They’re not too bad in the heat (if you don’t wear an undershirt). They’re a bit long so wearing them untucked conceals nicely and no printing. At 4:00 OWB, The snaps work wonderfully!

One shirt (thrift store special) has the snaps on reversed side (girls shirt but looks like a guy’s). This is actually ideal !!!

You made me look! I like the idea, but. Their web site says 30 days to ship left hand version and I have a laser that ain’t gonna’ fit. Otherwise looks cool!

This will be my first summer with my CCW. I always liked wearing basketball shorts or something similar. Now that’s basically gone and I have to wear some kind of short that has belt loops. Small price to pay for security but it may take some getting use to. I also bought some new shirts that should help conceal better.
