Something like this makes getting the base plates off much easier:
@Karacal - do you have a part number or link for that tool?
For all Glock lovers⦠and not only⦠check Lenny Magillās YouTube Channel.
Even I stay away from Glocks I love watching this guy. 100% Glock but so many ānon Glockā valuable information
He also has great website, but this one is for Glocks only.
I posted more on the other thread, but basically,
#1 gun is awesome. 0 malfunctions, I love the reset of the trigger, I can shoot the gun faster than my M&Ps because of the reset.
I am not as accurate with the Glock as I am with M&P. I was struggling with slow shots. Strangely enough, I was more accurate firing the gun quickly. Once I get my holster in, and I run a few more rounds through it, I might start carrying and training with it more. I want to get those slow accurate shots on point first though.
My experience is similar with fast shooting. I find the sights seem to come back on target quicker as well even with my old gen 3 without the fancier recoil spring. I think the grip angle lots of people like to complain about helps with the faster shooting.
Interesting, the M&P mags are actually really easy to work on (except the shield 45 ones are a pain in the butt to get back on).
I like everything about the controls on my Glock. Iāve never trained with a Glock before, but all of the controls worked perfect and easy for me yesterday. The only thing as far as manipulations go Iāll give M&P over Glock is the steel mags. The steel mags drop free quick and easy. The polymer mags still drop for me, but not as smooth or quick as M&P. (Not a huge deal. Both guns basically manipulate the same and I donāt really prefer one over the other in that regard).
I picked up a set that has the base plate tool, punch, and front sight tool on eBay. But if you want just the tool for the base plates look here. $9
My problem with the Glock mags is having to squeeze the sides of the mag so the tabs release. But that tool looks like it would make it easier.
Glock rear sights height varies. Some are 6.5 mm or 6.1mm. Wonder if this is why Iām getting low shots.
Any advice?
On the 19 I believe the front sight is .165" and rear is 6.5mm (.256"). Not sure if it is the same on your 19X
Usually the height will be marked in the rear sight. I canāt say why you are shooting low as their are unknown variables. Sight height, ammo weight, distance to target and how low are you shooting?
Itās a brand new pistol give it time to work itself inš
As @Karacal posted⦠donāt rush with judgment.
If you still shoot low after 1,000 rounds then ask long time Glock user to shoot your pistol.
I told you already, this is typical issue when you change pistols.
Iām not sure about Glock, bur CZ has numbered rear sights and these are setup correctly during factory test shootingā¦
or not⦠My P01 started shooting dead center after changing sights to Truglo TFX
Iāve read this was the case with some 19x shooters. BUT I agree. I need to spend more time behind the gun. I was just really shocked that my slow shooting was so far off target. Could have also just been a rough day at the range on top of a new gun with different ergos and trigger.
The gun is really fun to shoot though
.
I agree, Iāll just have to get more time behind the trigger.
Took my G45 to the range, I have to say, I like it. Shot very good at 7 yards. Kinda sucks having 4 17 round mags, and an ammunition shortageā¦
I feel you thereā¦
@Scoutbob try using a bore sight, it will show you where the sights are.
I absolutely love my G45. Itās one of the smoothest pistols that Iāve ever fired itās very accurate and comfortable in my hand. It is my EDC
