What type of pistol buyer are you?

If a firearm can not be taken a part and studied, it is worthless. If that firearm can not perform or even properly handled comfortably and safely, it is useless to operate by me.

I like taking a firearm and transforming it to work well with me and abilities. I am not talking about making a magic pistol, with auto pilot. But to leave it mainly stock, add night sights, recoil spring, or a slide release to make disassemble easier. Or make the trigger better. I want it to make it more reliable for me, NEVER MAKE SOMETHING THAT IT IS NOT.

For me it’s compatibility.

I used to have a Glock 34, 19 and 26. All 9mm utilizing the same mags. Now I’m down to just the G34 but it’s compatible with my Sub2000.

We have his-n-hers P938 so in worse case we can share/swap mags.

Sig P224 and M11-A1, compatible mags

Full size 1911 in 10mm and full size 1911 in 9mm, same holsters

You get the idea…

heheh… ya, my soft spots are Knight’s Armament and Desert Tech… but we were speaking pistols and I got distracted…

I got distracted as well and went on a tanget about TRIARC, Spikes, and BCM and realized it was a pistol thread and quickly deleted that before posting, lol.

I look fo single action a 45cal 9mm with Rd capacity of 15 or more so CZP01 …S & W 1911 I love single action only hold s 9rds but classicand I own a Glock25
10mm so bottom line up front is what ever I like I buy

My first gun I owned was a 357. I just like it! I fired the .45 in the Marine Corps and I loved it! I was told that a 9 mm would be a good conceal carry weapon so I looked around and tried out about 10 different models. I came to the SIG P-365 XL. I also liked my squad automatic weapon but I guess that one will get away from me. I will settle for a .556.
I think of it as a tool kit, proper tools for the proper job.

What, you don’t think you could conceal a SAW?

I would not want to conceal it at all! I would just want to introduce you to a little friend of mine!

I can hardly wait for texas eskimo to use sig and glock in one sentence.
My 2 cented opinion…
Fits my hand
Trigger pull
Reset
Sight acquisition
SA single action
Being able to become one with this tool, if one can’t become one, find another tool.
Easy maintenance

And…since sig legion members get a 15 percent discount with the uscca! I didn’t think to ask for a senior discount!

There are only two pistols I am NOT actively hunting for because my hot rod needs parts more than my gun collection needs guns.

Gen 1 XD 4" in 45 ACP Bi-Tone, preferably with a thumb safety.
M-1917 Colt .45 ACP revolver U.S. Stamped

I have yet to find a compact 9mm that fits me well for a lighter carry weapon than my Stainless Officers Model 1911. The Bersa Thunder was as close as I have come.

Cheers,

I recently stumbled across a movie for the first time, which is about those “new to firearm owning”, done in documentary style. It was narrated by the primary person going through the start of the journey, along with his spouse. If you all have not seen it yet, I think you will like it. I did. One issue I did have with in the film, was the legal aspect of defending one’s property, which was part of the language they used. I suspect our honorable friends in the legal arena might caution us about the lengths we go through to protect our “stuff” and the risks involved. I found the unique film on AMAZON, titled “Keep and Bear”, from 2017, included with Prime. Watch Keep and Bear | Prime Video
Enjoy my friends.

I have three Glock pistols… and to include other manufactures I have a CAA MCK and a Kel-Tec S2K.
Note: the CAA MCK is powered by my Glock 17… and the Kel-Tec exclusively uses my Glock magazines. There seems to be a pattern here I guess.

A hidden gem on Amazon! Thank you for sharing the link.

To answer the thread, most of my life I’ve owned a handgun but buying a handgun has always been “needs versus wants”. I want a FNS .45 Tactical right now. I have an adequate number of firearms for self-protection. That $1,000.00 is doing OK in my savings account for when I might need a new set of tires or someone has to go to the ER.

For those that are buying their first handgun, find something you can get comfortable with carrying. It doesn’t have to be an Ed Brown or Zev. Set a budget and stay within it. Include the cost of a good holster, cleaning supplies and ammo. Most new guns will come with a case and lock. Over the life of a gun, ammo will far exceed the cost of the firearm.

Texaseskimo sir…since that name is long to type, Ill call you T and E…for short…if that ok…lol…can you please give us a sentence that contains sig and glock please? Your new GF, the one from the executive range, might be a closet sig owner???

Not without getting a lot of hate mail.

I can think of pistols I’d like to own, but nothing I really need to own.
What I already have works very well for me.
I’d rather spend the money on ammo, training, maybe some new leather

I pick up a gun to see how it feels. If it feels perfect for my had… I buy it… If it doesn’t… Then I don’t. I don’t care what it looks like. And I don’t pick up any gun over 500, just in case I like it, I won’t be able to afford it. So why tease myself.

Not really a Pistol owner. I have two. A 92FS and a 38 snubby. Picked the 92 because it was my brothers who sold it to me at a good price. Its a sturdy pistol and i would trade it unless its for another 92FS. Now I am a rifle slut who got like 8 of the damn things. Most are C&R types but a Mini 14 and two AR types. I buy what I got ammo for or oddball calibers which the gunstore seems to have a lot of because nobody owns them. The look on the gunstore clerks face when you buy a box of 303 British is worth the price of admission.

Am that kind of person, I love wheel guns so I have a 38 special and of course a 357. They both work well against potential targets. I like how they operate simple and easy. I dont care about the manufacturer as long as the guns do what they are suppose to do.
