He was my favorite part of Guns and Ammo magazine, gotta love coopers corner.
âHow we deal with death is at least as important as how we deal with life. the greatest danger facing us is ourselves, an irrational fear of the unknown. But thereâs no such thing as the unknown â only things temporarily hidden, temporarily not understood. Death. Destruction. Disease. Horror. Thatâs what war is all about. Thatâs what makes it a thing to be avoided.â
Captain James T. Kirk
Freedom, because the alternative sucks!
-Kbranche
And because they have forgotten, the horrorâs of the past will be repeated, as they are in our streets today.
So is no one going to talk about the fact that he just quoted Star Trek?
And?
Your point?

Live Long and Prosper
This may not be some famous quote. It comes from a T Shirt @Zavier_D posted on a different thread. I really liked it and thought it might go great on this posting. I think it belongs with other great quotes about freedom and the U.S.
.
My favorite quote is by Thomas Jefferson;
âWhen government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.â
Unfortunately, they canât forget what they havenât learned.
What is your definition of learning? actually being in combat or learning about the subject ? History class still very much teaches all of this. You do not have to serve in the military to remember US history or to respect or honor those who have served/serving.
I see whatâs going on in this country and really wonder how much emphasis is given to the subject of history in our schools. Hell, even when I was in school years and years (and years!) ago, teachers taught us history but didnât seem to care if we understood history.
I guess that depends on the teacher, My 11th grade history teacher made us watch some pretty brutal war videos and interviews of combat vets ect. I understand what you are saying though. Most of my teachers have all been pro America when it came to history. Now if the teens listened⊠that was a different story.
âLive Free Or Die; Death Is Not The Worst of Evils.â
-General John Stark, July 31, 1809
If we ever forget we are one nation under god, then we will be a Nation gone under
Ronald Reagan
The essence of America. That which really unites us is not ethnicity, or nationality, or religion. It is the ideaâ and what an idea it is: that you can come from humble circumstances and do great things. That it doesnât matter where you came from, but where you are going.
Condoleeza Rice
âNUTSâ.
General Anthony McAuliffe commander of the 101st Airborne Division when presented with terms for his surrender at the Battle of the Bulge.
Connie and Colin should have had a go at the top two seats.
âYou will never know how much it cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it.â - John Adams
Just saw this today, not really a quote about freedom, but still an interesting thought:
âThe wolf on top of the hill is not as hungry as the wolf climbing the hill.â
Duty is ours, consequences are Godâs.
Stonewall Jackson
