What do "White Chapters of BLM" have to do with anything

LOL so true…

I’m not sure our conversation is accomplishing much for either of us. We seem to be chasing around in circles without getting anywhere.

Let me observe that OldDude seems to have hit a very sensitive nerve of yours with his comment about BLM burning down “entire neighborhoods”. Not defending the statement but, accurate or not it seems a relatively minor point within the overall context. Perhaps if we had not become sidetracked we could have had a much more productive discourse.

One last thing:

In point of fact, Police do kill unarmed white males in greater numbers than unarmed black males, according to the best data available. To be honest, I have never heard of any organized “White Lives Matter” advocacy group. Once or twice I have heard what I took to be sarcastic or denigrating offhand references to WLM, but not from any speaker I take seriously on any subject.

As was every nation which established itself by breaking away from the power and authority of another. Your statement is true, but not exclusive to the US, or particularly damning in and of itself.

You seem to be taking his statement very personally. He may have been misinformed or mistaken or engaging in a bit of hyperbole to make his point, without being malicious. Or he may have said exactly what he meant. I didn’t think his comment was of central importance to the over conversation.

NO, no, my friend. The real beauty of free speech–truly free speech–is that there are no prerequisites to speaking. Anyone can say whatever they like without any knowledge or understanding of their subject, if that’s what they choose to do. This is why listening and critical thinking are so important.

Be well, and I wish you success.

YOU SAY: “I’m not sure our conversation is accomplishing much for either of us. We seem to be chasing around in circles without getting anywhere.”

Correct very circular debate mostly because you keep asking for explanation of the same things. But please note there is no need for me to take this convo personal. I have been laughing at how you keep trying to build a one up, all in the name of acting as if you don’t really understand. I do however take issues with people that aren’t truthful, but pretend they are being super honest.

I can say this though Dave, if you don’t get it by now, then you never will bro…

Take Care!!!

Well :stopwatch: out

Where do you align yourself? Is OldDude or another telling you something you disagree with because of your political beliefs? I personally see BLM as a racist organization. It doesn’t matter what races are in the organization. It’s the goals of the organization that make it racist and the leaders that take advantage of their positions.

It’s a fact that the black leaders of the organization used their positions to enrich themselves. All people of all races do such things. Is pointing out those facts racist? I don’t care if a person is black, white, green, polka-dotted, striped or whatever.

Don’t let yourself be swayed by the current politically correct narrative. Call out crime and criminals no matter what race. Labels only will divide and destroy this country. Everybody in our great country needs to be 100% for America.

In normal times, this worked because people could recognize BS and ignorance and call it out. Now we can’t, so the system doesn’t work, and listeners (and speakers…) leave thinking that they’re right.

That’s just 'rong. :sunglasses:

This I can agree with 100%.

I come here for the conversation, opinions, knowledge that other members have, debates, and even the memes.

But I still can’t agree with you on the arguing, Arguing becomes personal too easily. And then name calling, and hard feelings.

We’re all allegedly on the same side here. We share our opinions, but some take it personal and then start spewing hate, which is uncalled for. “Why can’t we all just get along?”

OK lets play your game then…

notice the NUMBERS!!! sure does look like the numbers of people are getting shot???

do NOT support your claims???

Just hover over the color chart and see HOW MANY???

Number of people shot to death by the police in the United States from 2017 to 2024*, by race

https://www.statista.com/statistics/585152/people-shot-to-death-by-us-police-by-race/

perhaps someone else does too??? SEEMS they make CLAIMS that are NOT supported by the evidence???

YOU say more black people??? don’t look like it to me… wanna look and see the actual NUMBERS???

hmmm… so… this was said… does the reverse apply???

“needs to know what he is talking about if he wants to speak on something.”

WELL???

I don’t think arguing becomes personal. I think we make it personal and then we forget the purpose for arguing and do nothing to solve the problem. If we don’t argue our points how are we going to find out if our assumptions are true or false¿ I think arguing without insult is one of the most important things we do for our mental health. I was taught, healthy mind healthy body.I know it is difficult to do on the internet because we can’t determine feelings and think the worst and then get triggered. The only reason I am arguing now is to find out if arguing is healthy. I am not trying to prove a point, I am trying to learn. How do you feel about it?

YOU SAY: “Where do you align yourself? Is OldDude or another telling you something you disagree with because of your political beliefs? I personally see BLM as a racist organization. I align with what is in my best interest, something that lots of people don’t see to be able to do. As for BLM the founders are MARXISTS as opposed to blatantly racist as an organization.

If we looked at BLM as racist then we would also had to confess the WLM (White Live Matter) had a racist tendency?

I do agree with you that it shouldn’t matter what races are in the organization, but let’s be brutally honest… IT DOES!!!

YOU SAY: “It’s a fact that the black leaders of the organization used their positions to enrich themselves. All people of all races do such things. Is pointing out those facts racist? I don’t care if a person is black, white, green, polka-dotted, striped or whatever.”

AGAIN, I agree BLM founders certainly got paid in a huge way. However, I’m afraid that is a totally separate issue. You know what we all say, that we don’t care is someone has purple dots and green spots, but we do. We just say we don’t to not make waves in the water.

YOU SAY: “Don’t let yourself be swayed by the current politically correct narrative. Call out crime and criminals no matter what race. Labels only will divide and destroy this country. Everybody in our great country needs to be 100% for America.”

Being brutally forward here: Why would you assume I get manipulated?!?!

FYI: I am sitting in a room full of cops as I reply back to you response. I tend to be “The Elephant In The Room” persona, as opposed to the “Lead Around By a Ring In My Nose” personality.

Anyway good works, but I think that people generally don’t like truth. They instead like doses of FEEL GOOD!!!

You really need critical thinking class…

I SAID: “BLM was basically a statement on how fast police seemed to be willing to kill black faces.”

Note that “HOW FAST” as the operative word. I said NOTHING ABOUT NUMBERS.

So you just misread, and made a hugely incorrect assumption that shows that you simply don’t get it…

You’re too busy trying to shift this to a place where you can look like you’ve won something.

The sad part!!! There is nothing to win!!!

YOU alone for the most part proved my point. You either can’t read, or you intentionally do what politicians do in some cases by redirecting.

Me: “Officer, you call that a knife?”

We’re having a discussion.
These other two guys are having an argument.
If this discussion turns into an argument, then I’ll be out.

To me and you it sounds like an argument. To them it might be a discussion with a lot more of that stuff flying around.

Good point. I guess it’s the way that a person looks at it.

To me (and I am entitled to this ‘My opinion’ because for now this is still 'merica !)
It sounds like one guy is trying to get an actual ANSWER and the utter guy is just wishing to act superior and instead of ANSWERING Flings Insults and Negativity around.
My view is if you don’t wish to discuss, explain your stance do’t stir the sh**.
We are all after the same goal here (most of us anyway)
Talk, Learn, share our stories, engage in peaceful dialogue. But that’s just Mi Dos Centavos.
I’m just a dumb Grunt trying to survive this MADNESS
Not fight/Argue with people who may be FOS and just being a :troll:

Welllllllll, the one guy is pretty cool, in my book anyway. But it takes two to tango. That’s why my belief is when a discussion turns into nasties, I’ll bow out. Nothing to prove on my part.

exactomundo !

Me too. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
