I have been known to refer to my favorite pheasant gun as “Billy Baroo” (Caddy Shack)
I had a pistol grip 12 ga. I called “Sparky”. Hurt like crazy to shoot but produced fireworks a few inches out of the muzzle. Big fun for a 22 year old Soldier.
I’ve never thought about naming my guns. But sounds like fun! Stay tuned.
Ruger?
My first shotgun, a Fox 12 gauge sxs, was Old Thunder
My current shotgun, a Lanber o/u, is The Spanish Maid
@allforumgoers
I am very sad that no one has named their shotgun as their Boomstick. Other than me of course. I do appreciate fine cinema
Such a classic movie and Starz television show that now runs on Netflix.
I do call my 2 Kerambits, Ashy and Slashy.
I thought there was a rule that all Fox guns had to be named Bo Whoop
It was a Model B, so not a real Fox but a Stevens dressed up like a Fox !
Not safe for steel shot so was made obsolete by state (CA) law
I didn’t name my shotty that, but do make reference to it as my boom stick.
If you tell me you have a Delta, and hang out with a guy named Pablo, you win he internet.
Steel shot put a lot of the old doubles on the shelf. My favorite hunting gun is a Parker built in 1899, so it is not steel shot safe either. I have used tungsten matrix (polymer/tungsten pellets) when I want to carry it in a non-toxic shot zone, but at $4 per shot I do a lot of swearing if I miss.
If I was single I’m pretty sure I would rather hang with Kelly.
Love those movies, and even the show. Binge watched for the 3rd time while I was recovering from a tough surgery.
To be honest, I would give up my right hand for a bionic hand that could be replaced with a chain saw.
After much thought, I have decided on a name for my EDC. In honor of two women I admire, @Dawn and @Zee, I have chosen DawnZee as the name on my Glock 43. Plus in the 1980’s I owned a 18’ Donzi Sport Classic Boat. It looked slick behind my Vette. Not as beautiful as Dawn & Zee though.
You can shorten it to DaZee @TexasEskimo!
And you know we’ve got your 6
Are we sure we’ve exhausted all possible name combinations?
Dawnzee
Zeedawn
Zedawne
Dazeewn
… should we scramble the letters?
We are a little old school…just sig…sometimes whizzbang. The Glocks are Dill, and Doe. The mrs said her Kimber was Finicky. The mrs calls her EDC just sig. Texaseskimo sure likes red…nice ride!!! Nice shop! In our country we don’t see many vets pulling boats.
My .38 snub is Roscoe
Only one I named is my NAA Mini revolver… “Fire Ant”
Walking in a large hospital car garage a couple nights ago my wife was feeling a bit nervous. She tried to “make up a code” on the fly to be sure I was armed. What she came up with was a combination of Clint Eastwood and printing. She asked if I was “Crinting”. Of course I was confused and had no idea what she was talking about. She said never mind.
Then I thought about this thread. My EDC is now named “Leatherman”. Now she can ask me if I remembered my leatherman and I can answer her in public with no one the wiser, except you guys of course
