SORRY jOSEPH… the word kill at the time of translation was correct…
during that time period slay meant take the life of an enemy during battle…
to kill was to MURDER someone often an innocent…
the folks back then were often very proud of their word meanings and how to use them…
later the meaning of kill some how got changed…
although that may be very recent…
I.E. the book to KILL a mockingbird was a story about a murder…
modern or more modern word meanings… or our education system has failed us AGAIN???
well many of those have changed over the centuries…
