Always impressed that the people here keep up with what is relevant to this community and especially to the times we live in. I’m sure CNN would be impressed. Oh wait. They don’t cover this stuff… bwahahahahahaha

I guess the other option is to roll over and watch the decay & collapse of our society, grand scale theft, arson and mobs in our cities and lay on our trembling about the possibility of being incarcerated for standing against evil. Or just pull out our cell phone and video the crimes. What’s that saying about “Good Men Doing nothing”?

WHAT?

How the hell did you get Any of that from what I wrote?
Did you take an Evelyn Wood Speed reading course and read
every other line?

I SAID: BE SMART! DEFEND yourself and others. When the threat is down, BACK OFF! BACK OFF!
Not run away w/ a load in your pants, Not cower in a corner waiting for the final muzzle blast.
Holster your weapon, Call the man, Call your USCCA REP/Lawyer. Anything else you gleaned from that
is Horse Sh**.
Did you EVER see me write be a Pooooooooooosie?, a Sheeple?
I am a damn good Warrior, Proven track record for sticking up for the INNOCENT
and Protecting Myself and My Family, A SHEEPDOG, Not a Sheep.

But SIR, I will tell you this straight
I AM NOT GOING TO JAIL because I couldn’t control my Trigger Finger and my emotions
My Family (ever dwindling), My LIFE, MY FREEDOM is to damn important to be locked up
and the key thrown away because I continued to shoot a piece of dead meat laying on the ground

STOP the THREAT! YES! Then BACK OFF! Do the right thing! DON’T WASTE AMMO! Clear enough now?
adonde nosotros vamos uno nosotros ir todo!!!

Tom Grieve posted his analysis. Pretty close to my thoughts, but told in better way.
Moral and written laws can differ, but both should be applied everyday.

I agree with you. I saw the video when it first happened and think he was mostly good until the robber dropped. After that he walked over and I believe he shot him two more times. I thought he would get at least manslaughter for that.

Welcome to the community @Doug101

I feel the shooter definitely opened himself up to the possibility of significant charges as well as a civil suit with those last couple of shots.

Sometimes criminals get shot in the back because the defender has not had time to recognize the threat has turned, isn’t sure the threat is over just because they turned and/or hasn’t had time to send the signal to their finger to stop pulling the trigger once they figure out the threat has ended. The argument seems a little on the weak side that any of those reasons were at play for the final shot here.

Opportunity knocked Brother Sham and that window opened and he took it.
The THREAT was clearly not over (Shooting in the back in this instance) was seizing the day!
Menace-boy was still on that power-trip of making these people feel helpless, scared and weak.
(they get off on this sh**!—It isn’t just about money to these Crim’s. (MOO!–my opinion only)
They get a hit like a rock of crack scaring people. It gives them the ‘Juice’
as Tom Sizemore (actor) said in ‘HEAT’. It ain’t all 'bout da money, For me it’s that Juice…
Till you take too many chances and get shot in the Head right Tom? (his character got ‘Domed’)
Jerzees: THAT was an exceptional post/Vid, Thank you. Tom Grieve ‘Nailed it!’
1-4 flat out legal cool
5-8 ‘Cringy’ (his words not mine)–dikhead was down, gun out of his hands.
9- Buzzer soundsssssssssssss errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
But this diner got lucky it was in Texas (MOO!)
He got lucky it wasn’t in a Socialist Blu melt down state
That ‘Coup de Grace’ was way beyond the boundaries of what ANY of us should do
STOP the THREAT Yes, Judge, Jury and Execute? (Nyet!)
If he did that in New York he’d be sharing a cell w/ the J6’er’s.
Thrown in the hole and the Hole thrown away Buh Bye.

We Gunner’s HAVE to be sharper with our decision making
We have to be aware it’s not just the defending/Shoot
The backlash from Blu DA’s/Prosecutors could wipe us out
Lawsuits from ‘grieving’ families’ the loss of revenue this POS
could have made for them (robbing, Raping and Killing Innocents is lost)
Look at that Pillar of Society and Virtue Saint George :fu:lloyd
They NAMED A PLAZA in Decrepit Central after him!
The world is upside down and Sinner’s can become Saints
and Saints can be erased.
I don’t ever want to be erased. Do any of you?

Agree. When the threat is imminent to yourself or others it doesn’t matter which way the threat is facing. I also don’t believe a person reacting to an attack should be held responsible for firing some rounds after the threat ceases but before they could observe, process, confirm and react to the threat ending.

Unfortunately many anti self defense people and even more than a few pro self defense people view any shots in the back as unacceptable. But the threat of ignorant people punishing me for a justifiable act of defending myself or others wouldn’t cause me to put myself at incredibly more risk by waiting for an attacker to turn and point their gun at me before I took a shot. That would just be stupid.

In this case the shooter had good reason to believe there was an imminent threat and the best and safest way to handle the threat was when the threat’s back was to him. But things become questionable after those first shots and the last one makes no sense to me at all. It would have made sense to potentially jump up and shoot the thief in the back of the head with the first shot to make sure the threat was stopped ASAP. But with the threat on the ground, not moving and the gun out of his hand why move in close where the thief could reach you to take that final shot if you believed they were still a threat? That was a tactically and legally questionable move.

Because Brother, It’s HARD to turn off that ‘switch’ Damn hard! Adrenaline is PUMPING Furiously!
Some Gunner’s may not admit it but there is a CHARGE that goes through you after a successful
fight and that you are still alive! I don’t mind admitting that. YOU ARE ALIVE! EVIL DIDN’T PREVAIL but you have to click that switch OFF! As soon as possible. You WON, back off, Remove the threats weapon(s) make sure they are down. then yadda, yadda Call in the Cleaner crew. Lawyers (reinforcements)
This guy (Texas) regrouped and even returned the Wallets and money but when he 'Was in it!"
He was wired higher than any drug. Combat Warrior’s call it SURVIVAL, Arm Chair Progressive’s call it an
‘Atrocity’.
I don’t want to keep harping the TRAINING, TRAINING,TRAINING, muscle Memory going (although I just did ) But Just for me the standard disclaimer apply’s that Training will talk you down faster. BOOP! that finger comes off the trigger, BOOP! You back off! etc.
Now, I’m ready for the possible Flaming…

That is a concern for me. I haven’t been able to come up with good ways to train my mind and muscles to recognize and respond to the threat has stopped signals in a realistic way.

I sometimes use beeps or color flashes from my timer or phone to signal it’s time to go or stop but it’s not the same as visually seeing your target turn and run or go down while your adrenaline is pumping. This is where a realistic shoot don’t shoot would come in handy if there are also scenarios where you need to stop shooting.

I’ve been doing some of the shoot don’t shoot with my martial arts coach and it has helped speed up my recognition and decision making process while under stress. Need to have him start throwing in scenarios where I need to draw but then he gives up before or shortly after I start pulling the trigger.

I’m no expert Brother, Maybe ask Larry (THE Marine) or some of the others
what the best course is to take/Train. The Dos Jakes, others can chime in
(I hope they do). You are very smart, you’re training up MOO! is you’d do fine.
Lot’s of people here are super smart, that switch WILL Click off after.
It’s getting it to ‘Click ON!’ that may be a 'Q’uestion for some.
And that’s why Training is stressed so much.
Your Martial Arts deal is (timers, color flashes It’s all good!) perfect for this, It adds another layer
What I’ve been taught by Thunder Ranch and life is you can be taught all sorts
of sh**, You can be a Tacti-cool Warrior, a ‘Motard’ but when that first shot
goes whizzing past your head (hopefully) Then it all kicks in!
All sorts of tips, lessons, training, life experience all gels and you will get it done.
The thing for me is that Situational Awareness for ME THAT is the key
You see sh** BEFORE it happens you can set-up, get your mind right then it all
starts clicking. You saw it with this Cop last year, Mall Shooting Outside TX again?)
Some MOPE starts unloading on the shoppers, he was in the Lot doing some other Cop stuff.
He got his AR out of the trunk, and instead of driving over he RAN! he RAN! It was impressive
to see a White guy run so steady, measured breaths, got to the scene and dropped the MF’er!
‘BANG BANG!, Game over Thanks for playin’ and Buh Bye!
I’d be doubled over, panting my ass off, sweating like a Sueee-eeeeeeeeeee!
His shot’s DIDN’T go all over the place, he didn’t Mag-dump. He got it done
You get right, figure it out as it happens and you will too.
It’s the person on the damn phone, driving around La la la la and bam he/she gets jumped
That is an Oh Sh** moment (talk about dumping      Not the one you hope for Pee-You!)

I don’t think we can consciously train our minds to train our bodies. Our subconscious or unconscious mind has to train our conscious mind. We do have faith based training and the power of positive thinking.

I think it can work both ways. But if you don’t feed your subconscious mind enough useful data it is going to have a hard time taking the actions you want and need it to when your conscious mind doesn’t have time to think about how best to proceed.

I think we went full circle and are back at how we can consciously feed our subconscious if we don’t know how to do that. Training training training.

Yup. The question being, given limited time and money what are the most effective types of training available to me that I should be focusing on?

That is different for all of us. I know you can figure that out. Unless it was a rhetorical question( ¿ ). Then never mind.
