I see a growing list of potential threats out there. Many of them the symptoms, not the causes, of the massive economic imbalances going on here and globally. I am very happy Harris didn’t win. But to me Trump seems like the perfect scape goat to pin the past 4 decades of inept governance and corruption on. I think his election actually increases the odds of false flags and manipulated threats. Or they can just stop using fuzzy and fake math to hide the real numbers allowing everyone to clearly see the true mess we are all in.

I’m no expert but suspect that the amount of material in a single medical device would not create a very effective weapon. Whatever device made from it would likely cause way more panic than actual damage. Which I guess could play into a false flag attack.

I am aware that that government agency known as the NRC has stated that it was a “small amount” that would not create “permanent damage”. These are relative terms. What is a “small amount”, and from a technical perspective, a radioactive half life of 10,000 years is not “permanent”. Reminds me of the phrase “Mostly peaceful” used to describe the BLM riots.
Why was the shipping container “damaged”, and the contents “missing”?

Given the number of shipping containers and shipped boxes that are broken into and stolen on a daily basis in this country it certainly doesn’t seem implausible to me. Also given the number of damaged and occasionally empty packages that I have received over the years that doesn’t overly surprise me either.
The bigger question is that if this was such a dangerous amount of radioactive material why would it be allowed to be shipped through normal methods?
But I could see the government being interested in finding it. There was a case in Africa I think where some criminals found some abandoned medical gear with radioactive material in it. Think it ended up being brought to a pawn type shop and the owner gave the interesting looking slightly glowing device to a young relative. After prolonged close contact several family members got sick and one or two of them died.
My limited understanding is if you took that small amount of material and spread it over a larger area that area would be unsafe for long term habitation until properly cleaned. But the people exposed to blast would have little to no long term consequences from the radiation once properly decontaminated.

If I am in Chicago (God forbid!) waiting for my next flight and I am critically close to my ‘Restrictions’ what would I be able to do? Call time out? not bloody likely.
Other positions available can better serve my 2-3 days a week limitations.

I might have to give up ‘Disability’ status… giving up a sure thing in this
climate may not be my best move.

If people are worried about lost nuclear materials being put to use, here’s a thought for you. My brother, an X-ray tech, says there is more nuclear material going up and down I75 every day than was lost, supposedly, in NJ. Just think of all the nuclear medicine that hospitals use each year. The nuclear materials used in the X-ray tubes. Why would any group with bad intentions go to a port to get in a shipping container on a boat? Highjack a semi 2 or 3 instead.

I just jumped in here cause I had to get a new phone and the one I got was supposed to be like my old one but it ain’t and all this stuff it sez isn’t connected to the server but anyhow they have been talking about the 6.8 for our military for probably ten yrs or so and if all the other NATO nations don’t wanna adopt it it won’t happen, a huge gargantuan mess of a change over.
Any change over, in any of our uniformed armed forces branches let alone all of the branches in the (DoD) Department of Defense, or NATO the armed forces of Europe, is always a huge undertaking.
Just coordinating the budgeting, and the bureaucracy, let alone the actual logistics of distribution of any new item like ammunition.
That whole NATO thing this like trying to turn a super tanker ship vs. a jet sky that can turn on a dime.
The tanker takes miles to maneuver.
So, does NATO compared to a USN SEAL TEAM.
Anything fielded in NATO takes time, maybe a year or more,but they have done it, and can do it again, eventually.
In a war time emergency they can speed up, and expedite that process.
In peace time that can drag it out more. But, it’s doable.
They have fielded new armored vehicles, and new aircraft many times, as well as ammunition.
It’s just that the M-16 and 5.56 cal, or .223mm ammo has been around since the late 1950s, going on six to seven decades, and also involves changing to the weapons chambered to the new ammunition, including the distribution of those weapons, and training the troops on them too.
Not just shipping out crates of a new caliber ammunition to all the units that will replace the old ammunition saying here you go use this now, but in what also.
That has to be distributed also.
That is a much bigger challenge to accomplish that is significantly more complicated in its totality.
But, like new armored vehicles and and new aircraft means training drivers and pilots, and maintenance crews also how to keep the new equipment functional.
Armorer in armories have to lean the new weapons also, inspect, clean, do function checks, and needed gun smithing to keep the new weapons functional too.
In addition to supporting the new caliber ammunition. It’s a big undertaking.
The easy part is that all the jobs in all those services have skills transferrable, and can adapt to recalibrating to the newer 6.8mm replacing the old 5.56mm ammunition.
With the new weapons that ammo feeds is an additional layer of logistics, and education to go with it.
Along with all the NATO countries having to change over to 6.8, I wonder if anyone has considered the fact that we have a quiet militia in this country of what, maybe 15 to 20 million Americans already equipped with 5.56 rifles, many or most of whom would step up to defend, at minimum, their corner of the country should we came under attack. I think of Ukraine desperately trying to get rifles in the hands of civilians after the invasion, and the mix of platforms they were dealing with.
