Shepherd Smith (FOX) is reporting that Walmart will stop selling all handgun ammo and will not allow O/C in stores located where O/C is legal.

@Michael7 Also the CEO of Walmart said he is a gun owner and will be composing a letter to Pres Trump asking about stronger background checks as well as ending the more popular ammunition sales.

It is easy to email Walmart corporate and to express your opinion. I’ve already done so.

Until they (Walmart) posts legal no weapons signs on the entrances according to local, state and/or federal laws I will continue as I have in the past.

Reporters can (and do) say whatever they want but perhaps Walmart needs to receive some negative feedback in the forms of letters and email about this decision BEFORE it is actually put into practice.

Once they put up the no weapons signs I will stop going to that store.

I can get most anything I want delivered to the house now from one source or another that still supports the 2nd amendment without conditions.

I already did that Mike. Let’s see what the outcome is going to be.
I’m optimistic because he is a gun owner

They’re going to stop selling handgun ammunition, .223 and 5.56 caliber.

From the above article:

Walmart will continue to sell long barrel deer rifles and shotguns and much of the ammunition for those guns. Walmart will also continue to allow concealed carry by customers with permits in its stores.

It sounds like Walmart is also in favor of red flag laws.

“We encourage our nation’s leaders to move forward and strengthen background checks and to remove weapons from those who have been determined to pose an imminent danger,” he said. “Congress and the administration should act. Given our decades of experience selling firearms, we are also offering to serve as a resource in the national debate on responsible gun sales.”

The author of this article appears to believe that other organizations will sell to someone who doesn’t receive a background check approval.

Walmart also stopped selling handguns in every state but Alaska in the mid-1990s and only sells a firearm to customers after receiving a “green light” on a background check.

Thoughts?

I try to limit my Walmart spending anyway. This just pushes me toward online shopping and away from these politically correct retailers.

Well after reading their official comments on the cooperate website I voiced (through email) my disapproval and will no longer be giving them any of my money. I will not support a business that only conditionally supports the 2nd amendment.

Rarely bought ammo there anyway, just 22lr. I’ll be getting that elsewhere now.
Going to contact the local Walmart and see if they intend to post no OC… since we’re a constitutional carry state, permits aren’t required for us anyway… I’ll ask what they mean to do about permitless carry. And if they’ll be providing security.
If they intend to restrict, I think well be letting them know we’re taking our business elsewhere… they don’t respect our rights and won’t let us protect ourselves within the law, so they don’t need our money.

Just read a statement from Walmart saying they will post signs not allowing o/c but will continue to allow permitted carry. Like you, I’ll spend my $ elsewhere. I just googled "contact Walmart corporate " and sent them my opinion.

I think I’ll head to Walmart and fill a cart with items I usually purchase then just leave the cart on isle 2A…kind of a “see what you didn’t sale” protest.

I’m getting so sick of this political correctness i could just puke.
I will still open carry at my local Walmart until they asked me to leave.

If this keeps up Walmart will be like Kmart out of business give it maybe 5 to 10 years give or take a little bit.

If we as a nation. Don’t stand up for our civil liberties we will lose them in other words socialism communism here we go.
Just my two cents.

Yep. Just gotta tell them why your money is walking away or they don’t correct their error.

From my hubby: “[granddaughter] and I will make it a point to visit the store manager at Wally World and let them know that our whole family will not be shopping there any more because of their policy.” He prefers the personal approach.

When anyone begins their gun argument with “I own guns”, look out. It’s never good

Good feedback from everyone. We, the gun owning, law abiding, people must take action by refusing to patronize Walmart AND we must let Walmart Corporate know why we are walking away.
