I no longer live in NY but my brother who has a CCW does. In NY they are so anti-gun that they will use any loophole to make it difficult to carry in the state. What USCCA, US Law Shield and others offer is insurance. In order to sell insurance in NY State your company needs to be registered and approved by the state. They will not approve “shooter insurance”. If you live in NY or NJ and a few of the other states that don’t allow it, good luck,
I have a friend that lives upstate NY. If I understood him correct ,doesn’t watch gun shows on TV for fear of being targeted some how. All i said to him was WOW! Is there any truth to this?
The specific laws the state of NY used to disallow the sale of USCCA memberships are really not applicable, but we all know that New York is not shy about distorting their laws for their use, and their courts will just go along with whatever interpretation the state wants.
Until the PEOPLE of the state get rid of their corrupt government and clean out the courts of activist judges there is no hope for that state.
Careful, I’ve seen what happens when people fight machines.
I’m done fighting the machine. I will now use 100% of my time, energy and resources to make sure my family and I are minimally affected as long as I can. But it’s a losing battle and I sadly understand this.
Unfortunately ever seeing NY clean out, remove, whatever you want to call it, their corrupt Government will never happen. Like most cities, NYC is the currently typical progressive, liberal cities as are most of the residents. Because of the population of NYC it trumps all other NY State’s votes. Similar to the issue with LA/Cali, Chicago/Illinois, etc. Expect the progressive state destroying policies to continue until they implode. When that happens, instead of blaming their own ineptness they will likely blame Trump…
I like to never use the word never
This is the city that once elected Giuliani to multiple terms. There is hope that at some point there will be a level of dissatisfaction that will swing the pendulum far in the other direction.
I just saw this thread and had no idea that NYS made restrictions like that. I knew it was bad, but not that bad! I’m from WNY and the Finger Lakes originally and really do miss the people there and what I consider to be some of the most beautiful parts of the country. However, I could never move back there with this kind of garbage still going on. I really feel for those that are stuck with that crap. What a terrible affront to liberty. The irony is, more USCCA membership means safer gun owners, but it was never really about safety at all.
I grew up in the 1000 Islands area of NY State, where the St Lawrence River and Lake Ontario meet. Arguably one of the most beautiful areas in the country. Growing up I thought what an idyllic place to be. Hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, woods, lakes, rivers, creeks everything a young boy needed. As I matured I became aware of politics and how “bad” people ruin good things. We left in 1979. My whole extended family, mother, father, siblings, and my trophy wifes whole family still live in NY State. If push came to shove could I ever live in NY State again? Absolutely. Would I ever want to live in NY State again? Absolutely not. I love NY as a visitor but not a resident. We have our kids and grandchildren with us, happy in America’s heartland…
Figured once SCOTUS overturned Heller it would change things. Me figured wrong.
Heller wasn’t overturned.
But the Bruen case did serve to make the truly control oriented states push even harder
