Do private lessons and range time count? I do the range instruction for a USCCA TC (Kevin Sadeski), but didn’t think that would count towards the 20. Does it?

I got certified NRA RSO without the instructor training. Maybe because it was through my NRA affiliated club?
RSO training is a great investment of a day in my opinion.

NRA RSO can be achieved by different paths.
There are two things that matter: you need to show you are knowledgeable person and have a high level of safe firearm handling.
Being Pistol Instructor you have both. Being trusted person within the group of people, you also have both.
Next step is just to properly answer a lot of questions and get the Certificate.
Yes, it is. You got respect on the range and people feel safe being around you.
