I am trying to remember the last time I felt like someone was being racist to me. It was never.
Even if I accepted the premise of more than one definition for a word in any language, this word was very clearly defined by the Greeks many centuries ago. It means majority rule. There is no scenario or alternate definition that removes that from being the result. I donāt think you understand the context. As someone whose first language is English, you are not understanding a lot of context. I donāt understand this.
Yes that is why we have elections.
What I said was Israel has a parliamentary democracy type of government. other than that, I donāt know what you think. I donāt understand.
We donāt have majority rule in the United States, we have a Constitutional Republic where citizens can vote on Federal Representation. Citizen voting for their representatives is considered a Democracy, our Representatives abiding by the limits of the Constitution is considered a Republic.
People are all racist and prejudiced, or theyāre lying.
Oh shit did I say that out loud![]()
No, itās really not why we have (s)elections.
Iām not really sure why you are trying to explain to people how things work in the US if you are from Israel. I realize there is a lot of globalization going on in the Western world (mostly by media for monetization), but not everyone cares about what is going on in other countries. They are too busy providing for themselves and their families. It also means you were dishonest when you said this:
Your behavior suggests you are copying and pasting posts here into a translator, because you are completely missing contextual cues that people speaking conversational English would not miss. There were probably some more direct insults others were posting that translated correctly, but you replied to some of my replies in a way that conflicts directly with your own stated positions on things. You also voted up many things I posted that you are not in agreement with.
Iām just wondering what your motivation is for doing these things.
I suppose you could be dopamine addicted, so you are trying to interact as much as possible to game the rewards system of Discourse. Mastodon and Bluesky will probably be better places for you to do that. I realize they do not have rewards systems, but you can be rewarded by being told what you want to hear.
Perhaps you enjoy role playing and manipulating the emotions of others by intentionally being contradictory even if your next statement contradicts yourself. There are some crucial concepts of self awareness you should probably research more, and develop some sense of it. Speaking in that way does not make you trustworthy or knowledgeable.
Forums require more etiquette. People are here to have semi-anonymous conversations with meaning, and hopefully with honest people. If it were a Category called, āRole play that you are from another country,ā then I could absolutely see what you contribute as appropriate for the category.
My motivation is communication. The forum is for responsibly armed Americans. To relate to people about our differences and similarities. I get stimulated that way. We were talking about democracy, I am a citizen of Israel and the government is a parliamentary democracy. I am also a citizen of the United States, we have a constitutional republic type government. We elect our politicians democratically, which means we vote for them. You all ready know that. I am retired, globalization means nothing to me. It seems like you think I have some ulterior motive than communication. I try to make the world a better place by bringing love into it. When I see someone bring hate I say something and try to turn it around. I hope that explains it. You can ask me anything.
Still arguing with a āBotā⦠No words
That is a possibility. I do exercise regularly and for my 69th birthday my wife got me a skateboard, which I like to ride a lot. I go to the skatepark every chance I get. I live rurally so I donāt have street and sidewalks around my house so I can only skateboard on my wraparound porch.
I am sorry if I offended you in anyway. That was not my intention. As a child my friend and me were always making fun of each other, it probably carried over to adulthood. I donāt intend to be childish only childlike.
I will try to be more etiquette LOL
Bob here is in his element. You go Bob!
Every once in a while. G-d bless.
āI am a citizen of Israel and the government is a parliamentary democracy. I am also a citizen of the United Statesā¦ā
So which is it, are you American or are you Israeli? In my mind you can only be one.
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Matthew 6:24
No, we do not. Your process of citizenship describes that. The popular vote does not determine who wins an election. The votes of the Electors do. They are not required to vote with the publicās vote. Most do in order to further their political career. So the concept you describe about voting in the US is false.
I donāt understand why you think I am offended, or why that is the go-to response from everyone that hears the slightest amount of push back or criticism. My emotional state is my business, and it would take more than you being dishonest to offend me. You are the only one that pays for your choices, not I.
Deuteronomy 6:4: "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD
What part of my statement is false.
