Disturbing video… The protestors came to instigate, and came armed.
In the video, at 1:04, you’ll see not one, but two “protestors,” the man in the beige hat and black vest, and the man in a mask and black shirt both draw. The masked man actually points his weapon.
Stupid move by the driver. But very likely illegal brandishing and worse by the demonstrators. It would be hard for them to prove they were simply defending themselves since their initial actions instigated the situation. They also had a clear advantage in numbers despite the driver’s size and whatever anger or threats he may have displayed.
When armed protesters stop and surround traffic (detaining innocent civilians) that should be treated the same as felonious restraint and/or assault if threats are made.
This is most likely not going to end well. These “protesters” are getting more and more out of control. If the police don’t shut these down soon…
I am all for peaceful protest. Line the sides of the road, whatever. But, when you start blocking roads, and threatening people who are not involved in the protest, it has gone too far.
And as they do, more everyday citizens will lose their patience and tolerance. This guy looks pretty close to slugging someone.
The officer in the video is only 15 feet away from the guys drawing their weapons, and doesn’t appear to be doing anything to stop them.
With the seemingly ubiquitous threat of lawsuits or imprisonment looming, or orders from above to stand down, how can police begin to curb this lawless behavior when they can’t even intervene during a potential lethal threat?
A couple rioters draw pistols and point them at an unarmed victim of their aggression? A GOOD cop draws and shoots the armed criminals before they hurt an unarmed civilian. PERIOD.
But that’s not what is happening, folks. Is it? Over and over…
When will y’all wake up?
I predict an armed conflict is coming. Want to wager on it?

Either the POLICE do there jobs or the American people will do it for them. A CIVIL war will happen again if this nonsense isn’t stopped. I am totally Hurt in my heart to what is happening in America. We must fight against Marxism/Socialism. Young adults/Children aren’t tought about the true history of this nation. Some drivers seemed to be on the side of the protesters, and I wonder if they intentionally blocked traffic for the loudmouths to put up a show

Unfortunately there’s going to come a time that someone DOES’NT want to end up like Reginald Denny, with their head bashed in and they are going to RUN OVER the vermin and leave it as road kill. Play very stupid games WIN very stupid prizes!
Some wishes may come true! Peaceful protests are all fine, when obstructions become the order of the day, a new plan of action is required.
When someone puts on a badge and a gun and raises their right hand to take the oath, their job isn’t to “get the message.” They are now accepting responsibility for being THE crisis manager, at least until a supervisor arrives on scene. That means their own sense of morals and knowledge of the law…their own ethical compass.…needs to guide their decisions and choices. Theoretically, that’s why society is paying them to do it. They are supposedly better educated, trained, and equipped to be “in charge” than other folks are. Instead, what we are getting are order-takers taking orders from amoral opportunists and political predators. We call those lackeys…henchmen…the goon squad. When cops lose the trust and respect of my family, they are in serious, serious trouble! Sadly, that’s where we are today.
I recently had this discussion with the single most pro-law enforcement guy I know, who is currently serving in a elected LE capacity, by the way. I was shocked to hear him say the same things: that cops are currently their own worst enemies for not following their own consciences and not being up to the constitutional and ethical challenges of the job. It makes the job of destroying our society too easy for the Marxist agents and opportunists. The police are taking themselves out of the fight for everyone to see. They are supposed to be holding the line! He is heart-broken. Honestly, so am I. But guys like us get over it, change our plans and our decision trees, and move on. So be it. 
When faced with these kinds of times, real warriors do the right thing and make sure they get fired and disciplined publicly for doing the right things. That lets the whole world know who is calling the shots. It also keeps LEOs on the side of “the people” and civilization. And when that doesn’t happen, being a cop gets very, very dangerous.
Good point, @Ken38. We know the real meaning of “defund the police,” and it’s not to provide more funding for social counselors. It’s to eliminate policing entirely.
With each concession, our police powers decrease, and when they become so weak as to be negligible, they’ll be expunged completely.
Let’s line up law enforcers, from Chief Executive of this nation, down to Governor of TX, down to City of Plano, TX Chief of Police, down to this officer’s Lieutenant. Can you tell me which ones upheld their oaths so far? Fish rots from the head.
Yes, @Alexander8 , but we are restating…over and over like a broken record…the obvious. We all know who is to blame and it doesn’t matter “why” they are doing it. How about we move beyond the blame game? How about we take on the responsibility to actually clean up the mess instead announcing “clean up on aisle 5” over and over again on the intercom while waiting for the janitor who never arrives because he is busy in the broom closet with our daughter? The real work of good vs evil gets done by the hearts, minds, and hands of individuals and companies and communities. Day by day…decision by decision…simple act by simple act – we add up individual acts of righteousness until it bears fruit. Others see us do the right things and they get motivated to give it a try, too. This is how stuff actually works. We have to convince the cop we know…our neighbor…not “the chief law enforcement officer in all the land.”
@Alces_Americanus The police are civilization’s first line of defense against anarchy – like the pawns and knights in a game of chess. Unfortunately, the good guys seem to still insist on playing checkers while the bad guys are most definitely playing chess! They aren’t dumb. They know they must remove and/or control all armed resistance to have any hope of achieving their dystopian nightmare (which they still believe is a utopian dream).
Exactly like the gun grab! First it’s fill out this form, then raise the age requirement, pay more taxes for suppressors, ban pistol braces, ban “high capacity” magazines, inch by inch. Be very aware of that last inch!
