I feel sorry for that gentleman.
Other than the grave error by that lady officer, how do we know for certain she’s racist?
What do we all think the outcome will be in the civil suit?
Interesting case and post. Teaches me if the state I’'m in does not require it, I best not volunteer to say I’m “carrying”, unless they ask.
I’m sure curious why they asked him to step out of the car. Could they have given him a ticket whilst he sat in his car?
Will the errors of that lady officer remain on he work file forever?

Seems that the incident occurred in Jacksonville, FL. The driver ran a red light, got pulled over by LEO, then first thing right out the LEO asked driver if he had any weapons, then driver said he did (seems to not be given a chance to further explain to imply his legality to carry) as the LEO instructed the driver to step out of the vehicle and…everything else follows. The driver sure has a pretty good case in his favor, seems like, for a lawsuit.

I’m not sure the psychogy of putting one’s self in riskier situations because you’re carrying always applies.
For me, when I started carrying, and considering the fact that I was now carrying a deadly weapon with life changing consequences for its use, I became even MORE aware of avoiding dangerous situations.
I really, really don’t want to have to shoot someone. In the past, if someone cut me off driving, I might have flipped him off. Now, I just let it go. The last thing I want is some guy who is having a bad day start road raging on me, we get in a confrontation, and I end up defending myself, for example. Better to let it go and not see a life potentially ended.

Don’t run a red light when carrying for one, for two IMHO I personally think cops suck “ anymore” and anymore is the catch phrase because I didn’t used to think that. But I often wonder if all the crap that comes with carrying is worth it, and if you ever have to use deadly force look out because you’re in for the ride of your life because the law doesn’t care about your friggin rights you killed someone and you’re goin to jail pal ! I have had like three cops tell me that they don’t like citizens carrying guns because it complicates things, may as well be in Russia or China . I don’t carry very often these days, Why? Well I can’t be in jail until it gets “ sorted-out” by whoever because at the present I am caring for an elderly and not well parent not to mention I’m not well either and sitting in jail for one day would wreck everything right now and I don’t go many places nowadays unless it’s the grocery store or pharmacy or hospital , However having said that I do have things to protect myself when I do go out but I can’t stop a bullet and just try to be aware of my surroundings and such and don’t go out “ running around “ anymore keeps a body out of trouble most of the time and hitting the joints and drinking and stuff while armed is just asking for trouble. But having said all that my situation governs what goes on but if anyone makes their own way in here they won’t go out the way they came in. I had two signs made one for me and one for my son that reads “ Anyone found here at night will be “ found” here in the morning. Lol

Officers, especially female officers, cause more problems than they’re worth. There is no situation a cop won’t make worse.

This is just blending in, being the grey man.
There is a stretch of interstate near me that is 5 lanes wide, 55 mph speed limit. There are times that the traffic is moving 70 mph,(sometimes 5 mph) bumper to bumper (almost). Nobody drives that section at 55. To do so would be suicide. You have to keep pace with traffic.
And I’ve said before you can be a law abiding citizen, but still get a speeding ticket.
Like Johnny F, I strive to be the most law abiding citizen that I can be while carrying.

My one and only speeding ticket was in 1970. I’ve been pulled over, always able to talk my way out of the ticket.

Yes, they should. We have in fact lost the demographic in this country. Whites are only about 46% anymore.
The Muslims are outbreeding you 7 to 1. The Mex outbreeding you 5 to 1.
The odds are definitely not in your favor. You’re losing your country to impotence and toxic femininity and foreign invaders and girl bosses screwing everything up (that is starting to change however, as companies get more and more tired of female nonsense in the workplace).
It used to be all the White males held most of the bachelors degrees and those were in science, engineering, math, etc., you know – all the important stuff. Now? White females have the majority of bachelors degrees and those are in social studies, HR and Woke. You know – all the completely useless nonsense. And they don’t go out with men who don’t have bachelors degrees typically. Then they don’t start thinking about a family until their mid-thirties (now, it’s too late), then have only one baby or none at all because: no mate AND too late.
So keep it up, America. It’s almost over.
Tell your daughters it’s more important to have a carreer in a factory screwing junk together and helping corporations get richer or to pretend you’re a tough guy for a living than it is to take care of your family.
Somebody better start staying home and making some f’cking babies. And better make it quick, too.

I was involved in a HEAD ON last year (Totally my Xterra—the guy hit me @ 60+ miles an hour) and the A-hole cop blamed me (I was sitting @ a light?)
ANYWAY, he went off on me and I TOOK IT. Kept Quiet, HE IS THE BADGE after all.
Like it or not. It is what it is.
When I extricated myself and my Sister out of the truck my Sidearm was on the floor boards, it was shocked off the Magnet. The Female Firefighter was shocked I still had the wherewithal to remember my Gun. (It’s my Gun, I know where it is @ all times)
I put it in my Holster and covered it with my shirt. As the Cop became more agitated,
cited me for some Bullsh!t law and handed me a summons. After taking his garbage for so long his ‘Partner’ finally stepped in and literally pushed him back physically and said ‘Enough’. Being a Gunner sometimes you just have to put up with folk’s like this racist Cop. (And NO ONE asked me if I was carrying and I didn’t offer) Keep your mouth shut I later told the partner and a few firefighters I was filing a complaint against Butt face. The Firefighters said I could call them as Material Witnesses because he was being antagonistic and WRONG pushing me for a negative response after I had been involved in a serious accident and was in shock.
He is now an EX-Cop , his partner called me and told me he tore up the summons and it disappeared he’s a–face is Prolly working @ Arby’s now. This all happened because the State Farm Insurance adjuster said that there is NO WAY I was @ fault in this. Paid my claim in full and didn’t pay for the guy who hit me. He was on his own.
That’s JUSTICE and because I didn’t lose it on the Cop it’s just a good story.
You will not succeed in this World if you are a HATER.
So, after all that do what you have to do. Carry, Don’t Carry, One in the Pipe (or not)

Why do you hate our flag so much?
One of the several reasons I firmly support keeping guns holstered securely on your person in the vehicle. This happens in relatively minor accidents per what I’ve heard from others as well.

Its not about DEI. that is a pretty misogynist statement. It’s about training. In the US police training is typically 18 to 21 weeks. In most of the world its 20 months. So if you have no passing familiarity with firearms and situational awareness etc. to throw someone on the to the streets and expect them to be an effective officer is expecting to0 much. It does not help that many departments have a shoot first mentality. Of course, when you throw the built-in bias people have to overcome 20 weeks is not enough. It does not help that most of the municipalities in larger cities are critically underfunded and understaffed.
