Very true, police rate of missing the target is 7 out of 10.
Cops in your neck of the woods doing this crazy stuff, too?
My town is out of hand once in a great while. Last big incident we had was a little over a year ago. Victim settled out of court. Cop suspended for a year and not allowed to interact with the public while suspended. Dunno if they allowed him back. But mostly the cops around here aren’t too crazy. This bum was an exception, not the rule around here. No point in throwing the entire department under the bus for the actions of this clown.
Our chief of police screwed up by OK’ing another less violent violation of citizen rights by two new rookie cops given a patrol car and turned loose on the town about two years ago late one night. He failed to review the evidence against the officers properly. And when the press realized the chief let it slide, they couldn’t believe it and confronted him with the video and asked him if he’d even watched it. He said, in front of the press, sheepishly, he had “seen some of it”. When pushed to watch it in its entirety, the chief looked at them, red in the face, and said he would now look into the matter more closely.
Too late. The city council had already called a meeting and canned the old, fat chiefy-weify into retirement.
The new chief is actually pretty cool. We met. I like him.
Watch bigger cities in MN, TX, FL, OH and a few others are terrible.
Meantime enjoy your bar-b-q.
I disagree, most officers I knew growing up and trained with when I was older were prior military. The ones that were not were hunters growing up. You must have failed the Police Academy at one point is why you despise law enforcement so much.
Actually, that is true about cops. Always has been. But, I know what you mean. Most cops are Republicans and Neocons, and some of them are into the great outdoors. So it does appear that way.
Never been in law enforcement, never tried out for it, never will.
Military either.
Stupid socialism is all it is.
And I f’king hate socialism.
Furthermore, you will see more and more of this as old time cops retire and the new, less disciplined Gen Z tardz are getting on the force. They have no knowledge of our Bill of Rights and these desensitized dolts could care less about any of it. Most of them didn’t have fathers in the home and were raised by single women, didn’t have Constitutional Studies in school, school taught them guns are bad and only cops and military should have them and on and on and so on and so forth as the country now circles the drain because of our foreign, monetary and domestic laws and policies.
Things are gonna get a lot worse before they get better.
I make it my business to know more about cops and copsuckers than cops and copsuckers do.
An old rule of thumb is to know your enemy.
Desecrating Anerican flags again, are ya?!
Naughty, naughty.
You never exceed the speed limit, or fail to completely stop at a stop sign? Never had a light go out? Never in the left lane with faster traffic behind? Never ever?
That’s a high bar
Best I can find, OIS (officer involved shooting) and private citizen DGU (defensive gun use) run the same hit % over the years.
Roughly 20% hit rate for both.
Yes and no, I was pulled over few months ago, while carrying my gun. I did all the right steps, turned the engine off, turned the cabin light off and kept my hands on the steering wheel, when I was asked if I had a gun, I answered yes sir I conceal carrry 5 o’clock, he let me off with a warning.
But few years back, I cut off an undercover at a stop sign not intentionally thinking he was turning into the convenience store. I was driving a sweet Grand Cherokee SRT. He pulled me over, got me out of the car and handcuffed me, did a big search in the car while his partner was apologizing to me, luckily no gun on me that day, and accused me of smoking weed while driving and claimed he was chasing me, I had to fight it in court, when my attorney requested the bodycam, he dropped the charges. Absolute abuse of power. Cost me few thousands to defend my self and clear my records.
On the other hand the County Cheif Police gave an honory police badge last year and recognition in the county headquarters with all the offices there including the guy who arrested me… very ironic. Plus they have asked several times to join the auxiliary force.
On the topic…
Dash Camera
Have one. Or two or three.
Front and rear.
I have front and back, records my speed and location by GPS. Saves to a SD card and downloaded to my phone. 4k resolution.
It’s not ironic. Happens all the time. Cops love rewarding each other for crimes they got away with…
Las Vegas, NV, 2011, a diabetic man goes into shock while driving and stopped at a red light on the Strip. Drivers call the cops when his car doesn’t move and holds up the lane. Cops arrive and see the man lolling around in the driver’s seat and immediately assume he’s “on drugs” and start screaming for him to get out of the car. Of course he cannot respond, so they end up breaking the window (if I recall correctly) and drag him out of the car and start the beatdown.
As this hapless, helpless person is being violently pounded by these goons, the sergeant is sitting in his SUV not far off from the incident watching. He decides to get out of the SUV and run over to the victim and kick him in the face, snapping his head back and rendering him unconscious, breaking his jaw and knocking his teeth out. Meantime the beating continues.
Somehow they figure out somethings not right and call paramedics. Paramedics treat him for diabetic shock and the man comes out of it having absolutely no idea what happened to him.
He sued Las Vegas for 14.5 million dollars and all his expenses and got paid.
Nothing was done to the police sergeant nor the other cops, and exactly one year later, on the same day the crime took place, that sergeant was promoted to lieutenant.
Obviously all of this was done on purpose, a big middle finger from the cops to the public, saying, “We do what we like to you suckwads and get paid handsomely for it. Get used to it. Sued? Lol! Not one penny came out of our pockets! YOU paid and will continue to pay for your own demise, idiots.”
Even worse than what I thought.
No, especially when I carry in my car or with my wife or grandkids. Do not want to invite trouble when they are with me.
No excuses for the LEO to see me. I am invisible to them.
That’s the right approach, but mistakes happens unintentionally and sometimes cannot be avoided. How many times we have to exceed the speed limit to keep up with the flow of traffic.
Totally agree with you, but on the other hand, defunding the police movement causes slower response time and higher crimes rates.
You are not alone, cause I’m the same way, as I still hold my Commercial Driver’s License, and don’t want no infractions on my driving record.
There is a solution to avoid such accident (already discussed on another thread):
Carry with EMPTY chamber. ![]()
I try to stay invisible as well. It’s the best way.
My last traffic ticket was in 2001.
I have my CDL since 02. I do drink and drive and am very cautious when I drive cause it is my livelihood. We are hold up to a higher standard than the class D drivers.
Then carry a CCW too. Even when I am on the road working, I use safe practices. Thank you for your comment. Others do not seem to understand that what I do behind the wheel I am expected to act accordingly to the law and not to be careless.
