The “news” is now reporting five deportations. Assuming that is true, how many times do we have to send somebody back before the Border Patrol just takes the individual out in the desert and shoots him?

You Nailed it! We ARE on our own. And that is truly sad. Guy’s like us are willing to fight, maybe it’s fruitless, maybe it’s means we are going to die ! But as Patrick Swayze once said in Red dawn1: " We’re all gonna die, die STANDING UP!" A lot of us here on this site are too far away, have families, disabled, old(er) ,Jobs, many are living paycheck to paycheck. I’ve never mention my exact family, But I am in a position where I can do this. I am close to the border, I have friends down there, I know the ground. I am not walking into an ‘Alamo’, ‘Custer’s last stand’ position…and I WANT TO COME HOME.

Would it bother me that I would never get to play my guitar w/ Sammy Hagar again @ his place in cabo ! Yep! But rest assured he’s gone, safe from there already. I’ve lived a good life, many happy, crazy stories and times ! But I also stepped up. When the call came I answered. But I didn’t join the military, never served in that capacity. I did it for God ,Country and MONEY! I fought in some of the same battles but not as a Regular but as a Hired Gun. I protected the Scum of the earth diplomats, and lack-of-dignitaries. I saved some of their asses at the cost of God given body parts, but my wallet got FAT and I have no regrets .I saved my cash. I want for nothing…except PAYBACK!. The friends I lost died and I never got to live the kind of life we all dreamed about. But they also never (Thank God) saw a system that’s well and truly broken, a fully corrupted Gubment that kills its own in great big bleeding batches. I’ve been to Juarez, Sonora, Chihuahua, I witnessed what the cartels do to ‘Their own people’. They don’t operate on the same level as we do.
If the SHTF here we are well and truly screwed. there will be No American way of life anymore. This is our Stalin, Hitler, Hirohito Despots and Psycho’s. These people massing on the Border are PAID to be there. This isn’t a joke. They are EVIL. MS13, cartel Special Forces, these aren’t shoeless bumkins , these people remind me of the Warlords of Somalia. Their country was in ruins, their own people are starved and they amassed a fortune they could never spend in a thousand lifetimes. Look at what Charles514 just said above: This killer had (5) deportations and he kept coming back. These people DON’T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING! Soul less, Killer eyes!. The only way to a life we were use to is to kill them. The only way to be safe is to eradicate EVIL. And EVIL is on our front steps.

Seems a bit odd, the hide and seek part, given the time of day, I don’t believe it. She was on his property. Far more to this story than what we are told. Granted he definitely is in the wrong, but where did they come from and why were they on his property. Likely he has had other issues with these “children”.
deputies were called out to a home in Starks at approximately 1 a.m. on May 7, in reference to a shooting. When deputies arrived they said they found the girl with a gunshot wound to the back of her head.
The incident happened on Jimmy Doyle Road. The area of the shooting is a dead-end road with only three residents: Doyle, the victim’s family and a relative to the victim’s family.

Hide & Seek seems plausible. The article says there are only 3 residences at the end of this street, and the other 2 are relatives. So these kids might have been used to playing on all the properties.
Either way, the defendant stated that he shot at people as they were running away. That ain’t self-defense. He’s going to jail, and he’ll probably be safer there than he would at home, surrounded by the two related families.

At 1am? I got the impression it was more than just a couple of “children”, I could well be mistaken. However, I never played in anyone’s yard, especially at 1am.

Yeah, I mostly agree, but Hide & Seek in the dark can be fun. And I can’t say we never crossed into other yards when we played. In this case, there were 3 yards and 2 of them were owned by relatives, so the kids probably thought of the whole area as their playground.
From a responsible gun owner’s perspective, he did not properly identify his target. I have to assume that if he the situational awareness that the neighbor’s kids were still outside playing, or if he had taken the time to turn the lights on and recognize his neighbor’s daughter, he would not have fired a shot.
From a legal perspective, he saw someone on his property retreating away from him. That might be suspicious, but it’s not an imminent threat to life or limb. He could have called the police or shouted profanities, but he wasn’t legally justified to fire rounds.

I also stated he was wrong - in his own words… But, as I stated, there could well be more to the story, as the “hide and seek” is the children’s claim.

Oh yeah, I agree. I’m just looking at his own statements in the article. He might have talked his way into a prosecution.

The minute the attack/assault/confrontation whatever breaks contact you MUST STOP !
It isn’t easy, in fact its damn hard! Your adrenaline is pumping furiously! Your fight or flight is warring
in your head! And you may want to “finish the job” but unlike our ‘rezident in depends’ thinks he’s going to YOU will be seen as a blood thirsty/gun crazy mad man/woman! You shoot somebody who disengaged, ran away, is no longer a threat to you and yours and you will hang. a Detective in NYC once told me after a robbery of my apartment “You see a threat/break-in attempt on your fire escape again and you shoot him (outside) pull him into your apartment and call the police… that doesn’t fly today. The perp can threaten you, stick a gun in your families faces, scream he’s going to kill you all ! Defend yourself ! by all means necessary. But the minute you shoot him (or shoot at him) and he tucks tail and runs please stop shooting. Shooting someone in the back these days will get you 'Big House” time. Separation from family, loss of jobs, civil suits etc. It’s crazy today. YOU DID NOTHING WRONG ! YOU WERE DEFENDING YOU AND YOURS! But once the threat to severe bodily harm/death is over you must stop the fight. These people today, this guy who shot the hide and seek kid, the man who shot through the door at another teen probably had no training… I’m not a genius here folks but common sense tells me if I am safe “behind” my own door, and I have time to call the Poe-Poe’s (45-60 min. response time probably ;c) I will not shoot. I paid a lot of bread for my doors and I know it would take a battering ram for somebody to get through them. Plenty of time to arm up, get my mind right and defend my Castle. These people (and I am trying not to judge here) were SCARED probably… a rustle in the bushes, a pound on the door, it’s not like an attempted car jacking @ a gas station or strong arm on the street ! They had time to do the right thing but with little training they reached for their iron and are now screwed. Part of what Ouade5 just said above is totally accurate! Situational Awareness has to come into play every time you leave the house, go grocery shopping, walk towards a mall etc. Even IN your own castle you need to do things to keep yourself safe. Keep windows/doors locked, garage doors down/locked, the bell rings…look out a window (not in direct view of the door if possible) make the effort to be in the moment and you won’t be surprised when a situation unfolds in front of you. Situational Awareness comes through training and practice. Familiarity with your weapons come through shooting, handling , carrying and cleaning. Head on a swivel, pay attention, be aware, see possibly threats BEFORE they are a threat to you. You don’t just buy a gun and stick it in a bedside drawer. It won’t train itself (or you). I have said this before because I say it anytime I help train someone new up. If a guy is stealing your car in the driveway and you are on the second floor (or ground floor) don’t unload on him w/ your AR15 ! It’s just a car! You can get another one. Does it suck? Yepper! Should you be mad/ angry as hell ! Oh Yeah! But you have a responsibility for all the lead you put down range. Neighbors, joggers, cars driving by can all be hit by you defending an inanimate object. As Al Pacino said in ‘Heat’ ‘Watch your back round’ . As our illustrious rezident said shoot a shotgun in the air to scare away the threat… NOOOOOOOOO! Azzhat! what goes up must come down!
We have to be smarter than the average Bear here. We have to be (10) steps ahead and think of what the consequences are if we do this or that. Training builds Muscle memory, Muscle Memory will save your life. I think Col. Jeff Cooper said (or was it Massad Ayoob?) " You win every fight, you can avoid"
This is why I come here to this site. It reinforces the lessons I practice/learn . Your experiences could one day save my life! Your stories could save my families lives. And mine yours. The people who swagger around with a gun (have zero training and think they are T.J.Hooker) will be the one’s on the sorry end of a shoot and a flashy pair of silver bracelets. The PoTG’s who use their heads, HAVE A PLAN, and know their limitations/rights will do better than most others around them. With the world in such disarray, with people acting out on a daily basis, keeping your head when all around you are losing theirs you will be OK. Nothing is guaranteed in this life just because you have a firearm. But if you know what you are doing with it, it can/will save your life. Today I am extremely grateful I am not a shepple. I am grateful I am not WOKE. I will not entrust MY SAFETY in someone else. And most importantly, MY NUMBER ONE RULE : If the hairs on the back of my neck go friggin’ crazy I get the hell out of there. It has saved me so many times I can’t even count!. So, listen to what your intuition/angels say and you should be ok.

Folks, Shut the hell up! You just were involved in a shoot! You might be a mess inside, you might have just killed someone, justifiable or not it’s temporarily out of your hands. Do what USCCA tells you to do. Call their hot-line, state what happened then call the police. When they get there you will be unarmed/unloaded (hands up/on your head?) your choice, Be respectful. Say you are willing to cooperate but would feel better with my lawyer present. Police officers get 48 hrs+ before they are interrogated/questioned because they know they haven’t had the chance to get their story…sorry mind right yet. When we tell it we will get one shot at putting ourselves in the proper light, there are no do-overs. Let the Mouth piece earn their bread! I don’t want to be in a cell with the next Jeffery Dahlmer looking @ me like I am his next meal. No sir! Saying something stupid because you are all wired up will be on the record forever. Nope, Let cooler heads do the talking. I have (3) local USCCA attorney’s dialed in on my phone. They are my first phone call, then USCCA, then the Police. This is a good idea (for me).
If you are not threatened/in danger DON’T SHOOT… the rustling in the bushes could be my Cat!

I carry from the moment I put my pants on in the morning until I take them off at night. 100% of home invasions happen when you’re at home! A small J frame in a pocket holster is unnoticable, and always within reach.
