I found the military to be very humbling. No matter what I thought I’d accomplished, there was always someone who did more. No matter how much bling I had on my uniform, there was always someone that made me look like I had just graduated Basic.
I had friends in California who were required to change into civilian clothes before leaving the building, because they would get harassed if they were seen in public wearing military uniforms.
