I carry my firearm at about the 2 o’clock position. My EDC is an Aliengear 3.5 holster with 2 belt clips. My issue is that it creeps back towards the 3 o’clock position. I have one clip on the front of a belt loop to stop it from going too far. What I’d like is the holster to stay where I put it…
Can you tell what is pushing the holster rearward?
My initial thought is at 2o’clock you would probably be better served with a dedicated appendix holster, but I don’t know if that would prevent the holster walking
Do they make metal clips you can swap out, or any metal clips that will fit the holster available? I’ve had much better luck with metal clips vs. plastic.
Can you tell what is pushing the holster? I would think your hip bone (?) is right there and would prevent it walking further rearwards. But really it shouldn’t be walking at all.
Guesses, sorry if they sound basic but just trying to get a good grasp…
is the belt tight enough?
What type of clips? do they attach well to the belt? it should be snug…
Does it walk more or less during certain movements? Like standing, walking, etc
Is there something leveraging the pistol? maybe the cant is such that the pistol pushes against your leg and when walking the leg pushes it
Is there a body shape concern? Tactical tummy pushing it rearwards?
Agree with @Danny28 when you sit and stand a lot during the course of a day that can cause it to shift. Maybe a thicker sturdier belt can help or even stronger clips. I wear an Alien Gear shapeshift 4.0 with my M&P 9 Shield PC at 4-4:30 and it’s comfortable and doesn’t shift.
• cheapest fix I can muster: use a safety pin or a large paper clip to chain link one side of the holster clips to the belt loop of the pants. Could also introduce a binder clip into training the holster to stay put.
Interesting. I have an older one, and mine have allen screws to tighten them up… and I need to tighten them up on occasion. While mine is comfortable, this one looks a little more so… as no screw mounts on back… but not sure about the snap in clips.
