this post is for input on the Sig P365AXG Legion 9mm.
I’ve owned 2 Sigs in the past: a P365XL 9mm, and an Emperor Scorpion 1911.
I’ve carried a 1911 for years and years.
But then:
my cousin who is an FFL store owner, and who swore by , preached, and loves 1911’s, told me about his new choice for carry. He decided on the Sig because a federal LE friend showed him how well i the one he carries shoots.
The footprint is certainly smaller and lighter, and the ammo a bit less. Made sense to me. I trust this guy so much that I have to have one.
I ordered one from the Bx yesterday. Should be in my hands within 7 days. Looking forward.
who here owns or has experience with this one? I’m dying to hear what you have to tell me about it!
You’re not going to go wrong with that one. I personally love the extra frame weight and the magwell solidifies my grip. It all helps with recoil management.
Hi. My Sig will be at my local military facility Bx today.
What I’d like to ask anyone familiar with these patrols is:
What SD ammo do you like. And field ammo?
I have Speer Gold Dot to try, and:
Magtech, plus some Winchester Service grade.
it’s been my experience that each pistol “likes” certain ammo better than others, so I will try different ones until I find the sweet spot. That process is time consuming but fun!
Anyone shoot matches with this pistol? What ammo do you use for them?
Thank you for any suggestions, shared experience, and comments!
I adore my Sig fastback 1911 of all my 1911s! So I totally understand why you like that scorpion
As for the 365, I have just the basic 365X and it has had no problems with anything I’ve fed it! Even cheap steel case ball has run flawlessly!
Personally I carry Hornaday 115 grain critical defense rounds in it, though I have to say the 124 critical duty shoots really well. (I was warned away from the “duty” line by the CCW instructor because Colorado is about nomenclature, why am I carrying “duty” rounds if I’m not LEO?!)
I used to carry critical duty in a Kimber 1911, because it shot the very best.
As for the “duty@ thing, and not being LE, my opinion for me is that I’ll carry what shoots best and if asked why, as non-LE, I’d simply say that because it shot best it is less likely to have unintended collateral damage.
Totally understand why legal people advise this. But, if I must defend myself, they ought to be most concerned that it was justified, and that I hit the attacker.
Attorneys will be attorneys.
Thank you for this reply :).
I’m going to test ammo but starting where someone has good luck can save money.
