It wasn’t me, I don’t even like the look of that chain. It can’t be real, Chicago is such a nice, friendly, city.

Too busy to hate, but too slow to not be murdered. Another reason not to visit that city.

I’ll admit, when I’m in my car, if parked, I’m very conscious of “car jackings” and even muggings for my wallet or phone, that they even think I might have. I try to limit ever just sitting in my car; I’d rather wait in an office, cafe, or on a park bench. Cities can be “hot beds” for such crimes.

My brother has that habit of sitting in his car, I once saw a stranger open my brother’s car door, starting to enter it, because he left his doors unlocked, and the stranger thought he was his Uber driver. I tease him about that event, in hopes he’ll lock his doors and move on, not be a “sitting duck”.

I’ve lived in Chicago for more than 20 years. Most of those years, I ran service calls, at night. Never a Problem. Moral of this tragedy certainly was that he was distracted. I often carried a 2nd 9 Sig on my left ankle. Now its non-lethal 1st, with a SS P365 as a EDC.

I don’t want to take the unnecessary chance that this non lethal decision was the wrong one in defending my life or that of my loved ones. Once someone engages you in this manner, he should have considered the dangers of his profession (that of being a criminal). Plus I don’t want to carry all of that equipment. I carry a NAA .22 WMR mini revolver as a backup to my EDC, which varies. Don’t take a chance with your life brother.

There’s no shame in admitting that. I do the same, looking at rear view and side mirrors. Even at stop lights and more so on four-way stops where there could be more loitering pedestrians.

Im sorry, if your in a nice vehicle wearing “bling” in a place like chitcago, Philly, etc. Plan on best case scenario only getting robbed

Keep a low profile, head on a swivel and ready to protect yourself and loved ones

As a professional driver, with 25 years since my last moving violation, and what should be 18 years safe driving with UPS (finally got my 15 after I got three 14 years awards because some bean counter cooperate jackass negated 3 years without an “accident” due to an unavoidable HIT WHILE PARKED!!! )

I have my head on a swivel at all times, whether in my personal vehicle and armed or my professional vehicle and just looking to maintain safety.

Part of me feels bad for the loss of life, then again, another part of me wonders why anyone would stream from behind the wheel? Parked or not!
