I no longer live in the state, but there are a lot of good people there that think as we do, but the state is so corrupt that their voices are never heard. Not sure how much longer that state will survive, seeing its current path of self-destruction.

Time to move

North of Sacramento, it’s still pretty much 2A friendly. But, some people from the Bay Area have moved to Placer and El Dorado Counties. It’s only a matter of time

A little victory. But, what has happened to the CDCR?!?!

*Calif. DAs Win Temporary Restraining Order Preventing Corrections Dept. From Awarding 66% ‘Good Conduct Credits’ to Second-Strikers

CDCR gifting violent inmates 2/3 time off sentence

The California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation recently enacted so-called “emergency” regulations to allow for additional “good conduct credits” to be awarded to serious and violent felons, and not based upon these felons completing any rehabilitation programs, or in essence, proving their good conduct.

Sacramento District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert spoke with the Globe Tuesday about two lawsuits nearly 30 California district attorneys have filed against the CDCR for these dubious actions.*

In my experience except in 501(c) 3 donation cases you get what you pay for! Why should the city of San Jose be an exception?

Far too many of our CA District Attorneys are only interested in social justice when they were elected to focus on criminal justice! Too bad so sad!

All these Politicians are so money hungry they’d sell there soul to get richer (I mean they have sold their souls). While WE the people pay ridiculous salaries to them. Let’s go Brandon.

How many on the council and the mayor’s buddies own businesses to offer gun insurance? Also where will that $25 go? Probably to buddy’s business in those aspects.

Another way for politicians to earn money for themselves and friends. All at the expense of “honest” citizens. Criminals will not give a darn about this crap.

I just think they are want to price people out of gun ownership. This is typical. Its a similar argument made for tobacco taxes. “Tobacco is bad, so we need to tax it to help ‘pay’ for all the bad stuff that tobacco causes and maybe it’ll be too expense for people to continue buying tobacco.”

What is worse about this for guns is it is an attack on a fundamental right. It would be like taxing religion or speech. Want to teach about God? Pay us X-amount of dollars a year to do that so we can use that money to educate people on the ‘dangers’ of religion. Want to publish a newspaper/magazine/website? First pass a background check to make sure you are not an evil person who will spread misinformation.

But yes, I agree the $25/year fee/tax will be used to push political agendas. I can see it now
indoctrination seminars given to school children on ‘how owning guns are evil and will cause you to kill yourself or someone else’.

Pathetic. How about this San Jose/Santa Clara/California
enforce existing laws, prosecute and incarcerate criminals. Period. Full stop.

And people still choose to move to this state?

No, the moving company data shows people are moving to “red” states. Reminder - until the Democrats moved far Left, the political map showed the DNC as “red” and the RNC as “blue”. This was part of the re-defining of our language, as we always associated red as Communist/Socialist.

The article says the Mayor of San Jose is a Democrat
Imagine that!!!.

If you look at companies located in or very near San Jose, you’ll find some giving signing bonuses to engineers as high as $180k. Not that any amount of money would motivate me to work for any of these snakepits, but others may decide differently.

I don’t like their infringement but if you are a CCW you are leaving yourself open to great losses if you don’t have liability insurance.

Thinking that Leftists make laws in order to deter crime and/or protect the innocent is naive at best.

This is yet another power-grab. When your firearms are registered, you are now liable to get a “no knock” warrant service at 2:00am, or at least be liable for even more punitive taxes.

How anyone still lives and functions in the Demokratik Peoples Republik of Kalifornia is beyond me.

Now that is just crazy talk! :grinning: The government is just trying to “help” us. I was discussing gun control laws with a leftist once. I asked them why they don’t just make the US a “crime free country”. They told me that was just a stupid idea, that would not work. :grinning:

New York City has made a huge effort to decrease crime. They have simply made “crime” legal. For instance, breaking & entering, theft, larceny, assault, and assaulting law enforcement are now misdemeanors. So when you get rid of the laws, there is no crime, or less of it. See, playing with numbers is fun!
