I still have hair on my head except for where the UFO landed.
My beard went from dark brown to grey faster than illegals immigrants at Home Depot being chased by ICE ![]()
My kids tell me I don’t have a Forehead, I have a Sixhead, no MPB but it seems all the hair on my head has run down and taken root on my back.
Oops, TMI, Back to our regular scheduled programming…

Badass!! I want one just like that…

That beard has its own time zone ![]()
Like I said above, I hope to look this good some day.
My beard was getting long enough that I could put a shemagh around my head and look like a terrorist. It it wasn’t as long as yours though.
Now I have something to aspire to.
Well, there are some very wise men here. I’ve never been told I was a wise man, but more than a few people told me I was a wise ass, so is that close? ![]()
@Todd30 has just introduced a new concealment mathod: inside beard carry ![]()
Good choice. Tell your wife that research shows younger women love the look.
I thought that right away also.
First time to the range since October. 2-1/2 months since right hand surgery and 3-1/2 weeks since left shoulder surgery. I had multiple objectives today:
1. See if I am healed up enough to shoot a handgun
2. Evaluate some Underwood Xtreme Defender 90 grain 9mm +P ammo
3. Test S&W 686 after changing out a couple of springs
4. Zero Red Dot sight on 300 Blackout
I started the day with a magazine of 22LR with a Browning 1911-22. Everything felt fine and results are the upper left hand corner target. Objective 1 accomplished!
Loaded a 10 round magazine of the Underwood ammo into a Springfield EMP4 (4” barrel). Again everything felt fine with the results shown in the lower left target.
Loaded Underwood ammo into a 7 round magazine + 1 in the pipe into a Sig P938 (3” barrel). Took aim at the upper right target and completely missed! What! This pistol has always been a tack driver! Emptied the magazine plus a couple more and gave up. This will not be carry ammo for this pistol unless I can figure out what’s happening. Side note; check out those + holes!
The body was still feeling good enough to test the 357, so I loaded up a wheel (6). I shot at the center target. Loaded up a 2nd wheel, took 1 shot that hit the lower left target. At this point I knew I was done with pistols.
All pistol shooting was at 5 yards.
Next was the 300 Blackout. It was bore sighted looking thru the barrel at home. 1st three rounds were low and left. Last three rounds were in the bullseye. Range was 35 feet, no magnification on the red dot.
I was happy to get back to live fire even if I know I’m gonna need some anti-pain pills tonight.![]()
The 938 rounds look as if they tumbled at the target.
The more I look at it, it still has a distintive phillips head shape to the impact, so I don’t think it was tumbling. I don’t know if the velocity difference between the barrels made the impact look different?
Before I bought, I told Underwood I was interested in their Xtreme Defender in 90 grain 9mm ammo for both the EMP4 and the P938. I specifically asked if +P might be a problem with the P938. They said the +P would be perfect for both.
I’m not ruling out the problem might be induced by me until I heal up a bit better and shoot a magazine of the Underwood back to back with a magazine of the Sig P365 hollow point I currently carry. It’s Sig ammo for the P938 til then.
BTW, the Underwood cycled perfect in both pistols ![]()
What is the velocity of the Underwood ammunition you ran through the 938?
Vendor data is 1,475 ft/s
Took my new shotgun out to try it out. I reloaded the rounds with different wads to see which one I liked and different grains of powder. Now I know which one performed good. 32 grains of blue dot with #4 buckshot. My copper-jacketed 1 1/2 oz slugs went through the stump that I used for a back stop.
I used my 940 JM Pro Mossburg 12 Gauge.
No photos, shot steel pistol gallery targets the other day.
I started with the rim-fire gallery with a Browning 1911-22. I’ve never tried the rim=fire gallery before, the steel targets there are tiny! I shot 100 rounds in what seemed like no time. Great warmup and excellent training with the combination of low recoil and did I mention the targets are tiny? My buddy loaned me his Henry lever-action with a peep-sight. All of a sudden every shot seemed effortless; gives a lot of weight to the saying “use your pistol to get to your rifle”.
Next was the big boy pistol gallery where the closest steel target is 11 yards out. I wanted to test my new P938 HiViz front sight. I am glad I did because it was dead on wrt windage, but shooting way high. I filed roughly 10 thousandths off the bottom to fit the dovetail. Apparently that is very significant on such a short sight radius. At $27 I will buy another and fit it by filing the dovetail on the new sight, therefore maintaining original height. I have an email into HiViz to find out which file I need to purchase from Brownells.
@Todd30 always wants to know what we learned at the range each trip. Well this time I found out I have taught myself a bad habit. I holstered up and took my 9mm 1911 that always shoots where I point it to the draw and fire section of the pistol gallery. I drew and shot a dueling tree knocking the steel target to the other side. I immediately reached up to pull the hammer back with my support hand! Why in the world did I do this? Because I have been training with a Strikeman laser cartridge at home. I have to pull the hammer back between shots to get another shot with the laser system.
Fortunately I have a plan to break the habit. There’s a Taurus G2C sitting in my safe. The striker hits the laser hard enough to work without racking the slide between shots. In other words I have infinite ammo as fast and as many times as I can pull the trigger.
That’s all folks! My no photo range report …
Made a pin cushion out of one of my ballistic bunnies while I was cooking my chili…..
90” long bow, 57lb draw at 32”
Looks like a porcupine.
