Very true unless you have a Taurus striker fire. I use the Strikeman cartridge in a G2C that will “fire” the laser over and over without racking the slide.
Before I changed over to training with the G2C I was using the Strikeman in a 1911. Fire, cock hammer, fire, and repeat. That taught me a very bad habit. I went to the range, drew my pistol out of the holster, fired, and immediately reached up to cock the trigger.
I honestly used the target with my phone only a couple of times. I mainly use Strikeman cartidge without target and phone for intuitive point shooting training. In other words I focus on the target and shoot at close range targets around the room. The laser gives immediate feedback where a shot would have landed. I feel this is benefical training for me if ever needed in close counter self defense. I recommend a balance between this training and using the sights skewing the balance based on experience level. More sight training for begineer to intermediate level shooters. I’m counting on @Jerzees to make better comments on this aspect
