@John150 Hitting the big six ohhh next year. 3 hrs commuting, 10 at work and mostly stationary. My wife is an exceptional chef. I’m a bit grumpy because she is no longer serving me wiener schnitzel and pom frits. She never heard of deep fried blue cat, hush puppies and coleslaw. Apologies for veering from topic.
I grew up on fried potatoes, dried beans and cornbread. Still eat it today.
Lead at a factory, always on the move
@John150 I have always been and continue to this day to be aerodynamic in body style. The most I have ever weighed on my 6-2" frame was 190 when I got fat on a desk job. The least was 135 lbs coming back from Desert Storm. I have carried a 1911 Officers model for 30 years and intermittently carried a Berretta 92F, EAA Witness, Full Size 1911 and even a Desert Eagle all IWB at 4 o’clock. I learned to never to bend over always squat or take a knee. A good holster and belt will serve you well as will giving the pistol a forward rake.
I stay about a 32" waist and 175 lbs and am confident to carry most anything with the above mentioned holster, belt and cover garment. If you wear your belt where it belongs it is not an issue to carry a large framed pistol.
Cheers,
Craig6
Have a nexbelt, I’m gonna change the cant
The p365 for comparison
does your belt ride on/above/below your hip bone?
From the pic, it seems like the beltline is a bit low. I know when I started CCW i had to raise my pants a bit higher. That, and a lower ride height help me. YYMV of course
Rides on the hip or just above. Buckle is below the belly button.
If y’all are looking for a great gun for concealment with out all the weight and bulk, may I suggest the S&W M&P 2.0 Family… 9mm, 40mm, .380 ez the . 380 bodyguard and introducing the 9mm ez . All are light weight, easy conceal without the bulging… and great price for your bang (pun intended)… Do some research on these guns… Even Kimber has some great guns
@Brian_J Send it to me. I’ll carry it for you.
You’d love carrying my 2011 lol.
Are your kidding? If I’m not carrying my 1911 I feel naked.
I hope you’re carrying now. You might get a little chill.
I carry from the time I wake up until the time I go to bed. Running joke is,
“My girlfriend asked why I carry a gun in the house, I replied DECEPTICONS. I laughed, she laughed, the toaster laughed. The toasters dead now, great times”
Oh no. I always liked Toaster. You could never quite get inside his head. If you tried you were toast. He had a bird for a friend who always laughed about pranking his mother. “Look at the orange Mama laid.”
His plans never seemed to hatch out.
Hey, you started this. Don’t blame me.
My wife usually answered this about a knife if someone asked her if I had one handy.
“Does he have his pants on?”
This would apply to my handgun too.
Of course I don’t loan either. Ruth Anne would warn people if they looked at my knives they’d cut you. They are kept sharp. It’s more entertaining than useful, but I use a hand held 100x microscope to inspect when I hone a good blade.
I usually have 3 knives on me, a SOG, SCHRADE and a boot knife.
@Brian_J what sort of setup do you use for your boot knife?
It’s a paddle sheath that stays put surprisingly, 3" blade and I use my work sharp system once a week to make sure it stays razor sharp.
@Brian_J Niiice!
